Glashütten - Seespitz (Koralpe)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Maribor, and then we continue driving on the highway towards the border crossing Šentilj and further on the Austrian highway towards Graz. We leave the mentioned highway at the exit for the settlement Lipnica / Leibnitz. When we leave the highway at the roundabout, we continue in the direction of the settlement Lipnica / Leibnitz and further we drive south from the village Gralla, which is today already some kind of peripheral part of Lipnica. Further, the road leads us past the industrial or commercial zone, and at the roundabout by the store Hofer we continue "straight" on the second exit in the direction of the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. Further, we drive for some time on the main road, and after the village Graschach we turn right in the direction of the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. In a roundabout right next to the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, we continue "straight" in the direction of the alpine pass Weinebene. From here, the road starts ascending more steeply, and we follow it for approximately 15 km, then turn left towards the settlement Glashütten. Next follows a short descent, and we arrive at the center of the village, where we park in the parking lot by the Church of the Name of Mary.

Route description:
From the starting point on the road, by which we arrived at the starting point, we return to the first turn, then head onto a marked path in the direction of the cottage Grünangerhütte and the peak Großer Speikkogel. Already after a few dozen steps of ascent, we reach a macadam road, which we cross and then continue past a beehive. Next follows an easy descent and we return to the macadam road, then continue for some time directly alongside the road, and later, in a moderate descent, we gradually move away from it. Lower down, we cross two streams via two successive bridges, followed by a gentle diagonal ascent to a cart track, which we follow briefly to the left, then quickly turn right onto a marked path that continues along a fence above the pasture Mottl.
Next follows some more easy descent, and lower down we cross the stream Höllgraben, then shortly after reach the stream Schwarze Sulm, where there is a worn-out and dangerous bridge; we go right and start ascending along the stream upwards. Higher up, we return to the macadam road we initially walked along, cross the stream via a bridge on it, and on the other side of the bridge, we go right and continue the ascent on a poorer and fairly steep macadam road. Later, we bypass a built structure on the right side, and shortly after, we leave the increasingly poor road to the left onto a marked footpath, which briefly ascends more steeply. When, a few minutes higher, we reach two successive roads, we only cross the first, follow the second to the left, and walk along it for some time. We leave the road at the spot where blazes lead us slightly to the right into the forest, where we immediately cross another road, and the path gradually turns to the left, quickly bringing us to the mountain hut Grünangerhütte.
Behind the mountain hut, we go right and continue the ascent on a marked footpath. After a few minutes of ascent through a thin forest we arrive at a smaller junction, where we continue straight in the direction of the path via Steinmandl. A little further, we cross a grazing fence, and behind it we continue a few minutes of ascent through the forest. When we leave the forest we cross the forest road, and immediately above the road, the path splits.
Before crossing the grazing fence we go right, where the marked path towards the summit Steinmandl continues (straight - unmarked path to the nearby Loskogel). Next follows some steep ascent along the edge of the forest, then the path flattens and transitions to an indistinct ridge of the peak Steinmandl, where an unmarked path from the right, leading over the pasture Bärentalalm, joins us.
From here follows a shorter moderate ascent and with nice views, we reach an interesting peak with small towers.
From the top follows a light descent, and then we gradually start ascending along the fence, and in front of us, we see the peak Hühnerstütze. The path ahead leads us past the turn-off for Zwergenstein, and the path a little further turns left and starts crossing the slopes of the peak Hühnerstütze towards the left. Next follows a longer easy ascent, and with increasingly beautiful views we reach the junction on an indistinct saddle between the peaks Seespitz and Hühnerstütze.
Here we continue straight or slightly left in the direction of the peak Großer Speikkogel (sharply right - Hühnerstütze, mountain pass Weinebene and also our starting point) and continue lightly ascending, and the path brings us to the western slopes of the peak Seespitz. Here at an appropriate place we leave the marked path, which on the right side bypasses the mentioned peak and on easier pathless terrain or a worse footpath in a few minutes we ascend to the summit, in the middle of which stands a smaller metal cross.
