Gornje Selo - Vela Straža (otok Šolta)

Access to starting point:
Leave the A1 motorway at the Split exit, then proceed on the expressway following signs for the Split ferry port. Buy tickets there for Šolta island. After a 1-hour ferry ride, we arrive in Rogač. Continue on the main road to the junction, turn left towards Stomorska and Gornje Selo. Upon arrival in Gornje Selo, find a suitable parking spot. Some space is available by the church.

Path description:
From the church, head along the road towards Stomorska, which we leave after a few minutes, turning right towards Vela Straža. The road leads along the slope of Vela Straža passing a monument, small chapel and cross, and after 20 minutes walking on a gentle asphalt road we arrive at the church of Gospe od Stomorja on the left side. Here we turn right towards Vela Straža. Walk along the wide path towards Vela Straža. The road first steeply ascends losing the asphalt cover, then levels out somewhat. Along the path are stations of the cross. The path leads past a tall antenna on the right and soon we reach the junction below the summit, where we turn right; straight ahead the road ends at the nearby antenna. In 2 minutes of walking over a short steep section and some steps we are at the cross, from where some views open.
The path is equipped with street lights, but they were not in use at night.
