Gornje Sitno - Planinski dom Umberto Girometta (via Ljuvač)

Access to starting point:
Leave the A1 motorway at the Split exit. Continue on the expressway to Split, where we continue along the Adriatic Highway to the town of Stobreč. Here, pay attention to the marked and traffic-light-controlled left turn-off just after the bridge over the Žrnovnica river. Drive through Žrnovnica to the marked junction, continuing left towards Donje Sitno and Gornje Sitno. Upon reaching the junction above Donje Sitno, continue left. Shortly after the Church of Saint Luke, turn slightly left towards Gornje Sitno. Drive through the village to the parking lot at the end of the village.

Route description:
From the starting point, continue along the road to the branch for the Umberto Girometta Mountain Hut. Continue right onto the wide path. We walk along it for about 10 minutes above the precipice to the branch for the footpath to the Umberto Girometta Mountain Hut. Straight along the wide path one also reaches the hut. Continue on the steep footpath, which brings us over the edge in a few steep zigzags, then for some time we traverse eastwards and soon enter a more level terrain. We arrive at a junction, where we continue right. Straight Ljubljan. After a short ascent, the path splits again. The described path goes straight ahead, but we can also continue left. The path ascends gently. Soon one of the paths from the road joins from the right. A little further, the path to the viewpoint branches off. The path leads us through a small valley between Kažel (840 m) on the right and Zatelak (892 m) on the left. We arrive at a marshy-grassy field called Ljuvač. Behind it, the path ascends steeply and in 5 minutes of steep ascent through pine forest we are at the Umberto Girometta Mountain Hut.
