Govejk - Sivka

Access to starting point:
A) From Železniki, Kranj or Medvode we drive to Škofja Loka, and from there we continue driving in the direction of Gorenja vas in Poljanska dolina valley and Žiri. In Žiri or at the end of Žiri (Stare Žiri), we leave the main road towards Rovte and Logatec and continue right in the direction of Idrija. After a little less than 4 km of driving from the crossroad in Žiri, we get to the settlement Govejk and a smaller saddle, where the road starts descending. On the mentioned saddle a road towards Ledine and Ledinske Krnice branches off to the right. We park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.
B) From Horjul or Polhov Gradec we drive to Šentjošt above Horjul, and from there we continue driving towards Smrečje. When we reach the main road Podlipa - Žiri, we follow it to the right, and we drive along it to Žiri. When in Žiri, we reach the main road Škofja Loka - Logatec, we follow it to the left, and we drive along it past the parish church and inn and pizzeria Lenger. After the inn we get to a crossroad, where we leave the main road towards Logatec and continue driving in the direction of Idrija. After a little less than 4 km of driving from the crossroad in Žiri, we get to the settlement Govejk and a smaller saddle, where the road starts descending. On the mentioned saddle a road towards Ledine and Ledinske Krnice branches off to the right. We park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.
C) From highway Ljubljana - Koper we go to the exit Vrhnika, and when we reach old road Ljubljana - Logatec, we continue in the direction of Logatec, but only a short time, since already at the next crossroad we continue right in the direction of Horjul. The road ahead leads through Vrhnika for a short time, later through the outskirts of Stara Vrhnika, and then we soon leave the road towards Horjul and continue driving slightly left in the direction of Smrečje. After Smrečje the road starts descending towards Račeva and Žiri. When in Žiri, we reach the main road Škofja Loka - Logatec, we follow it to the left, and we drive along it past the parish church and inn and pizzeria Lenger. After the inn we get to a crossroad, where we leave the main road towards Logatec and continue driving in the direction of Idrija. After a little less than 4 km of driving from the crossroad in Žiri, we get to the settlement Govejk and a smaller saddle, where the road starts descending. On the mentioned saddle a road towards Ledine and Ledinske Krnice branches off to the right. We park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.
D) From highway Koper - Ljubljana we go to the exit Logatec, and when we reach old road Logatec - Vrhnika we follow it to the right (first exit from the roundabout), and we drive along it only a short time, since then signs for Rovte and Žiri point us to the left. After Rovte the road starts descending towards Žiri, and when we reach the mentioned settlement, we soon turn left in the direction of Idrija. After a little less than 4 km of driving from the crossroad in Žiri, we get to the settlement Govejk and a smaller saddle, where the road starts descending. On the mentioned saddle a road towards Ledine and Ledinske Krnice branches off to the right. We park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.
E) From the road Idrija - Spodnja Idrija, immediately after the end of Idrija we turn right (if we come from the direction Spodnja Idrija, still before Idrija we turn left) across the bridge over the river Idrijca towards store Eurospin. On the other side of the bridge we get to the settlement Mokraška vas, and we stick to the main road which leads towards Ledinsko Razpotje and Žiri. Higher, the road leads us through a few hairpin turns, and then we get to the settlement Ledinsko Razpotje, about 2 km ahead also to the settlement Govejk. We park on an appropriate place, by a smaller saddle, where the road to Ledine and Ledinske Krnice branches off to the left.

Path description:
From the starting point in Govejk, we continue towards the west in the direction of Ledine, to where we have a little less than an hour of walking. The path ahead leads us past a few houses and a bigger wall, and after a shorter ascent it entirely flattens. At the next crossroad, where we notice signs for Ledine, we continue right, some 10 m ahead, near the "last" house also right onto a cart track. We continue on the cart track, which after a few minutes from the meadows passes into the forest. When after a few minutes we come out of the forest, the path widens into a drivable cart track, a little further we also join a somewhat wider road. On the macadam road in a few minutes we reach an asphalt road, along it we quickly get to a marked crossroad, where from the left a marked path from Ledinsko Razpotje also joins us.
We continue in the direction of Sivka, on a gently sloping road, which gradually brings us to the village Ledine, where on the right we notice Jurečeva šupa (museum collection), on the left on the shelter of the bus stop is attached a stamp box, in which there is a stamp and logbook.
The path ahead leads us through the village, after the sign end of the settlement Ledine, we continue right, where the blazes also direct us. The path then quickly ascends above the village, from where there is a nice view of part of the plateau, on the left, by the path, we also notice a smaller park or NOB monument.
The asphalt road then moderately ascends through initially still quite panoramic slopes, from which a beautiful view opens up all the way to Trnovski gozd. Higher the road passes into the forest, where it leads us past a smaller shrine, which we notice somewhat to the right from the path. Next follows crossing a meadow, then we ascend a few more minutes through the forest. The main road brings us higher out of the forest, where in a few steps we reach a marked junction by the chapel.
From the mentioned junction we continue left (right Bevkov vrh, Ermanovec and also Mrzli vrh, for the latter there are no signs at the junction) and continue on a gently sloping macadam road, which we follow only briefly, since then signs for Sivka direct us slightly right onto a footpath, which after a few steps passes into the forest. When we step into the forest the path moderately ascends and after approximately 5 minutes of further walking brings us to the summit of Sivka, where there is a stamp box.
