Access to starting point:
We drive into Baška grapa or to the settlement Grahovo ob Bači, where we turn onto a side road in the direction of Zakojce, Bukovo and the railway station. There follows some descent, and after crossing the railway track, we go left towards Bukovo (right to the railway station Grahovo) and begin the ascent. There follows an ascent in a few hairpin turns; when we arrive at the intersection, where the road branches sharply to the right to the nearby homestead Brelih, visible from the road, the described path begins. We park at an appropriate place by the road about 200 meters further in the direction towards Bukovo, or already lower by the road.
We can also reach the starting point on foot from the railway station Grahovo, which takes approximately 30 minutes.
Path description:
From the crossroad near the homestead Brelih, we continue sharply right and walk to the mentioned homestead, behind it we continue on the cart track which ascends diagonally across the grassy slope and leads towards the homestead Pušnik. During the ascent across the grassy slope, a nice view opens up on Baška grapa and the peak Kotel on the other side of the valley, and we also go past the information board of the themed trail Na svoji zemlji. Higher, we reach the western to northwestern ridge, where the path turns left, but we continue straight on the cart track.
Here a nice view opens up on Črvov vrh, at the fork we choose the left cart track, along which in a few minutes of further walking we arrive at the homestead Pušnik.
We bypass the residential house on the right side, then from the cart track we go left over the grazing fence (the path that continues straight is due to the sleet in February 2014 practically impassable). A little further ahead, the trail temporarily ends, but we continue across the grassy slope roughly towards the east to southeast, where a followable little trail soon appears. The trail soon turns left and then across the hayfield ascends diagonally to the forested ridge, where it turns right. We continue on the followable forest trail, which higher turns left and crosses the slopes.
We do not cross for long when we reach the indistinct ridge, where with some attention we notice a cairn which directs us right along the slope or ridge straight upwards, and in places traces of predecessors can be sensed. The pathless ascent lasts only a few minutes and we already reach a newer cart track, which we follow to the right. Here at first a nice view opens up, reaching all the way to Matajur; a little further, the previously mentioned path, difficult to pass due to sleet, joins from the right. From here we continue on the gentle cart track, which gradually widens into a poorer road, then we easily descend along the edge of a smaller valley basin to the marked crossroad, where we join the path through Žrelo.
From the junction, we go right in the direction of Črvov vrh, then in a moderate ascent we continue along the macadam road to a smaller saddle, where we go right in the direction of Bukov gaj (straight ahead Gorski Vrh).
A little after the crossroad we leave the macadam road, as a cairn directs us left onto a nicely beaten trail, which after a few minutes returns to the macadam path, and we follow it to the left. There follows some walking with nice views reaching all the way to Trnovski gozd; after crossing the grazing fence, we already notice Bukov gaj on the right, where there is a spring below Črvov vrh.
From Bukov gaj we continue on the lower cart track, which leads us towards Črvov vrh. There follows a few minutes of crossing with nice views, then we ascend on the wide cart track to the panoramic peak.
