Griže - Dragov dom na Homu (via Lajnarjev hrib)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Štajerska highway at exit Žalec, and then we follow the signs for Žalec. Through Žalec we follow the signs for Griže, which we reach soon after the bridge over the river Savinja. In Griže we go right in the direction of the cemetery, and we park at the parking lot opposite the parish church of St. Pankratius.

Route description:
From the parking lot opposite the church we continue on the asphalt road upwards, at the nearby crossroads we go right in the direction of Hom and Šešč pri Preboldu. The path ahead leads us past two chapels, and then the road descends to a crossroads near the inn Gostišče pri Zibiki.
Here we continue straight (left path on Hom via Zahom), where we go past the mentioned inn and a few more houses, when we get to the forest Griže ends. A little further a direct path on Hom branches off to the left, the main road towards Šešč pri Preboldu we leave in the middle of the right turn or after crossing the stream Lokavec.
We continue on the left road towards Hom, which brings us into the settlement Bezovnik (on some maps Brezovnik). Here we leave the forest, past individual houses we get to a crossroads at the chapel, where we go right (straight unmarked shortcut). Next follows some diagonal ascent towards the right, when we reach an indistinct ridge of Lajnarjev hrib we join the marked path from Šešč pri Preboldu.
We go left towards Hom, where at first we still walk on the road, a little higher we go right on a marked footpath towards Hom. Next follows a moderate ascent through the forest, after the crossing where from the right the Brdovska pot from Matk joins, the path temporarily becomes a little steeper. Past the 300-year-old tree we get to the chapel, where we join the direct path from Griže.
We continue straight, where further we walk on a less steep cart track, when we leave the forest we get to a small saddle, where the path from the hamlet Zahom joins.
Here, when looking to the right side, a nice view opens up, which in good visibility reaches all the way to the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, we go past the nearby house and continue on a steep macadam road, which we follow all the way to the top of Hom, where there are the church of St. Mary Magdalene and the mountain hut Dragov dom na Homu.
