Halmac - Televrina

Access to starting point:
From the Rupa-Rijeka or Zagreb-Rijeka motorway we drive towards Rijeka, and from there we follow the signs for Krk Island. When the motorway, or in the last section the expressway, ends, we descend to Krk Bridge. On Krk Island we then follow the signs for Cres Island and Lošinj and ferry port Valbiska. At the mentioned port we then take the ferry to the place Merag on Cres Island (126 kunas – July 2020). On Cres Island we then follow the signs for Mali Lošinj. In the place Osor we cross a smaller bridge to reach Lošinj Island. We continue to follow the main road; near the place Nerezine a narrow road branches off to the right towards the place Halmac. We head onto the mentioned road, which ascends further and becomes macadam. We follow the road to the last houses where there is a smaller parking lot on the left side of the road.

Path description:
From the smaller parking lot we continue along the road past the last house, then the road turns into the forest and turns into a trail. We follow the blazes and the trail leads us further along the fence mostly towards the north. Here the trail is relatively level and occasionally a view opens towards the Osoršćica mountain range. We continue walking on the mostly level trail and follow the signs for Tržić.
The trail then rises slightly a few times and brings us to a junction of several trails. To the right, trails lead into the valley towards Lopari camp and Osor, while we continue on the far left one following the signs for Tržić and Osoršćica. The trail then soon brings us along the stone fence to the abandoned village of Tržić where we will notice some ruins along the trail. We continue straight ahead and the trail brings us to a marked junction where a trail from Osor joins from the right.
We continue slightly left and follow the signs for the mountain hut and Televrina summit. From the junction a relatively level trail heads west and after about 15 minutes brings us to the next marked junction.
To the right a somewhat longer trail leads past the mountain hut, while we continue left as directed by the sign for Televrina summit. From the junction the trail runs mostly through low forest and begins to ascend a shade more steeply. Slightly higher we emerge from the forest onto a slope covered in scrub from where a nice view opens towards the sea and Osor. An ascent follows through a belt of forest, then the trail brings us to increasingly less vegetated slopes with a very nice view of the surroundings. Here the trail turns slightly left and ascends relatively steeply up the slope. This trail then brings us to the logbook box.
From the logbook box only a short ascent remains to a junction where we join the macadam road.
To the left the road leads to the transmitter, to the right slightly downhill to the mountain hut and further into the valley to Osor, while we cross the road and continue on the footpath to Televrina summit.
From the junction we ascend a panoramic slope partly covered with low scrub. The trail then turns slightly left and runs along a broad ridge towards the indistinct Kalek summit on which there is also a larger cairn. From the summit we continue southwards and the terrain becomes somewhat more vegetated; soon the trail brings us into low forest where there is a marked junction.
To the right downhill a trail leads to Vela jama cave, while we continue along the ridge to Televrina summit. Further on the trail continues along the ridge crossing a few more belts of low forest. Later we leave the ridge to the right side and the trail brings us to a short secured section called »Slovenčica«. The secured section is very short and not overly demanding. The trail then brings us back onto the ridge which we follow all the way to Televrina summit.
In summer months it is very hot on the trail, so it is recommended to set out very early and to take sufficient drinks.
