Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Mozirje, where at the roundabout we turn in the direction of "Golte". The road then brings us to the next intersection, where we turn slightly left again in the direction of "Golte". Further, the road brings us to the intersection of a one-way road. We turn right into the village Žekovec and the road brings us to the lower cableway station on Golte. Then we buy a ticket and take the cable car to the Hotel Golte.
Route description:
At the hotel we turn sharply right onto the forest road which goes past a transformer slightly downhill. The road brings us in a few minutes to the intersection at the Alpine garden (flowers). We continue straight in the direction of the mountain hut Mozirska koča. Further, the road continues slightly descending and brings us to a large meadow on which a chapel stands. From here to the hut we have only 100 meters of walking left.
Along the route: Alpski vrt (1380m)

Last weekend after the last ski run we headed out for an afternoon ramble on Golteh. We started the trail at Hotel Golte, where friendly hotel reception staff equipped us with basic info and a handy trail map. We chose a slightly shorter path from Hotel Golte via Medvedjaki, Treh plotov, Starih Stanov, past the karst sinkhole to the alpine garden and Mozirska koča and back to the hotel. We enjoyed the peace, beautiful sunny weather and admired the plateaus full of spring flowers. The trail is highly recommended for family outings.

In August I went along the path on Golte. Well-marked and nice weather made for a nice outing. The only problems are with people. At Mozirska koča I wanted to have a snack - but they have no info on what they offer and prices, and the owner complains he's tired. They just need to put out a menu board. So I went to the parking lot where there's a log cabin selling small items and drinks. There the owner was under an umbrella in the shade drinking beer and eating roasted corn with a friend - the other umbrellas for guests were lying on the ground. Of course he had no guests. So I feel that on Golte the innkeepers mostly take care of themselves.
