Hrastovec - Skalni vrh (Vodemla) (on ridge)

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Maribor highway, take the Žalec exit, then continue driving towards Velenje. In the main roundabout (2nd roundabout) in Velenje, below the ski jumping hill, continue straight ahead (2nd exit) towards Šoštanj - Mozirje. Then, at the traffic-light junction, turn right. Drive straight ahead over the railway line, uphill to the next roundabout. Take the 3rd exit towards the town stadium. The next roundabout follows, in which take the 1st exit towards Škale - Graška gora. Drive past the stadium and past Škale Lake to the settlement of Škale. A junction follows, in which turn right towards Cirkovce. Drive through the settlement of Hrastovec to the sign that marks the end of the settlement.
Park here or higher up along the road in a suitable place.

Path description:
From the sign that marks the end of the settlement Hrastovec, we go up the road. After less than 100 m, pay attention to the manhole on the right by the road. Here we leave the road and step onto the meadow.
We walk approximately 100 m along the edge of the forest, then turn left onto the path into the forest.
Soon we cross a forest track and continue along the ridge. From here onwards, follow the yellow markers. We cross another forest track. The path now leads steeply uphill along a wide ridge.
When we reach the clearing, a nice view opens up over the entire Šaleška Valley with hills in the background.
Visible are the Posavje Hills (from Gozdnik to Čemšenik Plateau), Gora Oljka, Golte, Smrekovec, Raduha and Peca. A little further ahead, the path along the ridge ends and joins a forest track.
We follow it past the feeding station and power line to the point where the marker for Skalni vrh directs us left. Follow the markers. After approximately 5 minutes we arrive at the summit.
