Izlake - Črni vrh (Čemšeniška planina)

Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Štajerska motorway at the Trojane exit, then follow the signs for Izlake and Zagorje. There follows some descent, then we arrive in the valley of the Orehovica stream. Further, we drive through the mentioned valley, and when we get to the Izlake settlement, just a few meters after the road sign which marks the beginning of the settlement, we turn right and park on the parking lot by the former Medijske toplice spa; today only the Bar And Lounge Carpe Diem is open.
B) We drive to Moravče, then follow the road towards Izlake. When we reach the main road Zagorje ob Savi - Izlake, we continue left towards Izlake; before the end of the Izlake settlement we turn left onto the parking lot in front of the former Medijske toplice spa.
C) From the Litija - Hrastnik road, we drive into the Zagorje ob Savi settlement, then follow the signs for Izlake. When we arrive in Izlake, we drive through the settlement along the main road; before the end of the settlement we turn left and park on the parking lot by the former Medijske toplice spa.

Path description:
From the parking lot by the former Medijske toplice spa we continue towards the center of Izlake, then at the pedestrian crossing we carefully cross the main road and continue on the road that branches off from the main one by the Tuš market Ajda store.
We continue in the direction of Čemšeniška planina and continue walking on the asphalt road, which ascends gently, first still past houses, then past several meadows and individual houses. The gentle road that leads us along the Lesji potok stream brings us after a while to a crossroads, where a road branches off to the left towards the part of the hamlet Brde; we continue straight ahead, and leave the valley of the Lesji potok stream at the spot where the mountain signpost from the road directs us sharply left onto the marked footpath. After a shorter transverse ascent the path turns sharply right; a few minutes higher it crosses a cart track. The path further leads us through the forest and gradually widens into a cart track that brings us out of the forest. There follow a few minutes of scenic walking and we reach the village Čemšenik, where at several successive junctions we carefully follow the blazes. At a somewhat larger crossroads in the middle of the village we go left, so that we bypass the Pošta Slovenije branch office and the Andrej store on the right, and the parish church of Mary's Assumption on the left.
A little further ahead, at the smaller crossroads we go sharply right in the direction of the blazes and bio products of Pr jezični Alenki. The steep road then leads us past the mentioned farm; at the water reservoir the asphalt ends. We continue on the macadam road, from the nearby crossroads we go left. We leave the macadam road just a little further and continue right onto the marked footpath, which begins to ascend more steeply through the forest. Higher up we briefly step back onto the road, from it we soon go slightly left onto the footpath that leads us past a smaller spring. Higher we cross a somewhat larger clearing; when we return to the forest, a marked path from Zagorje or Kisovec joins us from the right.
We continue in the direction of Čemšeniška planina and ascend transversely quite steeply. The transverse ascent ends when we reach the ridge of Čemšeniška planina; at that spot we also join the path from Trojane or Prvin.
We continue right and continue the ascent along the gentle macadam road, which we leave a little higher and continue slightly right onto the marked footpath that leads us with fine views of Zasavje and Posavsko hribovje with its highest peak Kum; in the distance we also see Snežnik. A little further we cross a strip of forest; the path then levels out and crosses a steep grassy slope, where when it is icy there is a great risk of slipping, otherwise the path is wide and technically undemanding. A little before the mountain hut we cross the route of a cargo cableway, then we stroll with fine views to the mountain hut.
From the mountain hut we continue eastwards or along the path in the direction of Krvavica. After the scenic section the path enters the forest and continues along the gentle ridge of Čemšeniška planina; after a few minutes it forks. We choose the slightly right path in the direction of Zajčeva koča (slightly left Vransko and Tabor) and continue ascending gently to moderately. First we pass a hunting observation post, then in a few minutes we ascend to a smaller saddle where there is the logbook box.
A little before the logbook box we go left and in one minute of further walking ascend to Črni vrh, the highest peak of Čemšeniška planina.
