Access to starting point:
We leave the Macelj-Zagreb highway at the Pojatno-Bistra exit. We drive in the mentioned direction and arrive at the old Zagorje main road. We arrive at the large shopping center West Gate. From the roundabout, we go in the direction of Bistra. We continue above the highway and drive to the village Jablanovec, where we park (I recommend parking in the parking lot at the town council building and the Dinamo inn).
Path description:
Wherever we left the vehicle, we first go to the church of St. John the Baptist, where the blazes on the power line poles help us.
From the church, we go right upwards along the street Kameniti svati. The path starts to ascend and after a few minutes of walking we arrive at the monument to the poet August Šenou, who wrote a poem about Kameniti svati.
From the monument we go left, then right, where the blazes help us. The path along the street becomes increasingly steep; when the asphalt ends, we go sharply left onto a forest cart track, which temporarily flattens and brings us to a wider forest road in a few minutes of walking.
This is followed by about half an hour of walking along the road, where we first walk fairly flat, then increasingly steep again. Higher up we ascend the western slopes of Kameniti svati. This part of the path is very muddy in places.
The path ahead takes us to a junction, where we go sharply left. Our path, which so far has led south, turns northeast. Soon after the junction we leave the forest road and continue along a narrower path through the forest. We soon arrive at a point where the path forks; we take the marked right path (we can also reach the top via the left path) and arrive at a forest cart track. There is also a junction where paths from the village Ivanec and from Podsused join.
From the junction we go another minute steeply upwards and arrive at the mountain hut Kameniti svati. It is open on Sundays and holidays; it is also possible to overnight there, but it is supplied only with drinks.
From the hut we go steeply upwards over roots and arrive at a rocky hill. The path first takes us to the summit rock, which is in the forest and has no view. After the summit there follows a shorter somewhat more demanding section, after which we descend to a viewpoint from which an exceptional view opens to the west. One minute further on is also the large cross dedicated to the Croatian martyrs.
