Javornik - Sveti Jošt above Kranj

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Medvode, and then on the old road we drive to Kranj, where at first traffic light we turn left in the direction of Stražišče and Šmarjetna gora. From the roundabout, where a road towards Šmarjetna gora branches off to the right, we continue "straight" (second exit). Further, we drive on the road Škofjeloška cesta, after that from a little bigger crossroad we turn right in the direction of Sveti Jošt above Kranj and Čepulje. We follow an ascending road to the beginning of the settlement Javornik, where we park on an appropriate place by the road.
B) From highway Jesenice - Ljubljana we go to the exit Kranj west, and then on the old road towards Ljubljana. Towards the end of Kranj, at the last traffic light we turn right in the direction of Stražišče. From the roundabout, where a road towards Šmarjetna gora branches off to the right, we continue "straight" (second exit). Further, we drive on the road Škofjeloška cesta, after that from a little bigger crossroad we turn right in the direction of Sveti Jošt above Kranj and Čepulje. We follow an ascending road to the beginning of the settlement Javornik, where we park on an appropriate place by the road.
C) From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Kranj east, and then we follow the signs for Škofja Loka. We leave the road towards Škofja Loka at the spot, where signs for Stražišče and Šmarjetna gora point us to the right. Further, we drive on the road Škofjeloška cesta, which we leave on a little larger crossroad and we continue left in the direction of Sveti Jošt above Kranj and Čepulje (road signs are only from the opposite direction). We follow an ascending road to the beginning of the settlement Javornik, where we park on an appropriate place by the road.
D) We drive to Škofja Loka, and then we continue driving towards Kranj. When the settlement Zgornje Bitnje ends, we continue left in the direction of Stražišče and Šmarjetna gora. Further, we drive on the road Škofjeloška cesta, which we leave on a little larger crossroad and we continue left in the direction of Sveti Jošt above Kranj and Čepulje (road signs are only from the opposite direction). We follow an ascending road to the beginning of the settlement Javornik, where we park on an appropriate place by the road.

Path description:
Few strides before the beginning of the settlement Javornik we continue on a marked path, which at first ascends on stairs, and then turns left and further it is ascending diagonally through the forest. Few minutes of ascent through the forest follows, and then we reach an asphalt road which leads towards the summit Sveti Jošt above Kranj. We follow the road to the right, and from the left soon also a marked path from Čepulje joins.
From here to the first turn we still walk on the road, and then we continue straight in the forest, through which continues a marked path. Further at first we are gently ascending, and after few crossings, where we follow the blazes, we ascend even a little steeper. The steep ascent cuts an asphalt road which leads towards the summit, and we continue straight across the road, on the path which continues on the more and more panoramic grassy slope. After further shorter ascent we reach the mountain hut Dom na Joštu, and few 10 strides ahead also church of St. Jošt.
