Access to starting point:
From Novo mesto, we drive in the direction of Metlika. After a good 8 km of driving, we turn from the main road in the direction of Koroška vas, through which we drive and after 1.2 km we get to Jurna vas. We drive through the village and at the end of the village, on the left side by the cross, we can see the first signpost. We can park on the right side at the wood storage.
Route description:
When we park the car at the wood storage, we set off in the direction from which we came 100 m along the asphalt and turn right at the cross. Immediately the view towards the summit opens up to us, which we keep in sight the whole time while walking.
Right at the beginning the path leads us between two homesteads and from there on it is only meadow and forest. When crossing the meadow, at the first junction we keep to the right, at the second to the left. In the forest itself, the directional signs guide us where to turn. When we come out of the forest, we can decide whether we choose the easier or harder access to the summit.
If we decide for the harder access, then we turn left and follow the trodden path to the summit (this part of the path is not marked at all). If we decide for the easier part of the path, then we turn right onto the asphalt path and continue along it to the village of Podgrad and at the primary school turn towards the summit.

The hilltop is more visited every year, which delights us. Villagers from nearby villages—we—have realized that it's not only beautiful on Gorjanci , and no need to drive the car anywhere.

Before reaching the very top of the hill, you can see a gully. Has anyone gone there already? I'm curious if the path is difficult.
Why is the round box at the top locked? I thought there would be a stamp in the box but there wasn't, the round one was locked.

The markings are so-so and could be better (more frequent, more visible in places). On the other hand, it's not a big problem, as most of the time you can see the goal ahead and even if you stray a bit off your own way, as long as you're roughly in the right direction, it should be fine. After all, it's a Dolenjska hill.
There's plenty of parking space, just be careful during the week not to block access or stored wood.
