Access to starting point:
From Bovec, we drive towards Trenta or vice versa, but only to the village Kal-Koritnica, which is the starting point for our tour. By the road, we will notice signposts for Svinjak, and we park on one of the smaller parking lots (don't park in the courtyard).
Path description:
From the starting point, we head onto the road (direction Svinjak), which ascends through the village. Already after a few minutes of walking, we turn right onto a footpath which quickly leads us into the forest. Further, we ascend moderately, occasionally steeply through the forest, and the path brings us higher to a ridge, from which it then quickly turns to the southern slopes. The path then ascends along the ridge increasingly steeply upwards.
When we have walked almost 2 hours, we will notice traces of a fire, which raged here years ago. The path then ascends even steeper and leads us along a slightly exposed slope, which is mainly when wet very dangerous for slipping. Further, the increasingly panoramic path in a few additional minutes of walking along the upper slope of the mountain brings us to panoramic Svinjak.
Because of the substantial steepness in the last part, more caution is needed to avoid slipping.
