Kambreško - Globočak

Access to starting point:
From Nova Gorica, we drive towards Tolmin or vice versa, and we follow the road to the settlement Ročinj, where signs for Kambreško point us to the left (and from the direction of Tolmin to the right). After 4 km we arrive at Kambreško, and at the crossroads in the middle of the village we turn right towards Srednje and Livek. Only a few meters ahead we park on an appropriate place by the NOB monument. At the starting point, there are no arranged parking spaces.

Path description:
Near the NOB monument we notice signs for the path to Globočak, which point us on a side road which ascends through the village. Above the village, the road ends, and we continue on a grassy cart track, on which we quickly get to a nicely arranged mountain signpost for Globočak (the sign is situated on a smaller hayrack, but unfortunately shows the wrong direction).
From the sign, we don't continue right as the arrow shows, but we continue the ascent straight upwards by the edge of the forest. A considerably overgrown footpath, then it passes into the forest through which it ascends gently. A little higher we step on an old cart track, on which in a moderate ascent we ascend to the second wider cart track, which we follow to the left. For a short time we continue on the mentioned cart track, and then signs for Globočak point us to the left on a gradually steeper footpath. Higher, we ascend past a smaller cavern, then the path leads us over a short very steep slope, where there is mainly in ice danger of slipping. The path ahead quickly flattens and brings us onto the forested ridge of Globočak, where the path from Srednje joins us. Here we continue right and after a minute of additional walking we arrive at the forested peak.
From the top, we can in a few minutes descend to two nearby caverns.
