Koča na Klopnem vrhu - Pesek

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Dravograd, and then we continue driving towards Maribor. Soon after the settlement Ožbalt we leave the main road and continue driving right across the bridge over the river Drava in the direction of the settlement Lovrenc na Pohorju. On the other side of the river the road starts ascending a little and soon brings us to the next crossroad, where we continue left in the direction of the village Činžat (right Lovrenc na Pohorju). In Činžat, where the road from Ruše also joins, we continue right in the direction of the mountain hut Koča na Klopnem vrhu. Above the village, the road becomes macadam, which first ascends along the Lamprehtov stream. Higher, the road leads past the Lampreht farm, and at the crossroads we follow the road in the direction of the mountain hut Koča na Klopnem vrhu. When we arrive at the mentioned mountain hut, we park in a suitable place nearby.
B) We drive to Ruše (to here from Maribor or Selnica ob Dravi) and then we continue driving towards Lovrenc na Pohorju. When we arrive at the village Činžat, we leave the road that leads towards Lovrenc na Pohorju and continue driving left on the initially still asphalt road in the direction of the mountain hut Koča na Klopnem vrhu. Above the village, the road becomes macadam, which first ascends along the Lamprehtov stream. Higher, the road leads past the Lampreht farm, and at the crossroads we follow the road in the direction of the mountain hut Koča na Klopnem vrhu. When we arrive at the mentioned mountain hut, we park in a suitable place nearby.
C) From the Ljubljana - Maribor highway we take the Slovenske Konjice exit and continue driving towards the mentioned settlement. From Slovenske Konjice we continue towards Zreče, and we follow the road in the direction of Rogla. When we arrive at Rogla we continue driving on the main road, and descend along it to the mountain hut Koča na Pesku. At the mentioned mountain hut we continue right in the direction of Osankarica and mountain hut Koča na Klopnem vrhu. Further on the macadam road, and then at all subsequent crossroads we follow in the direction of the mountain hut Koča na Klopnem vrhu. We park in a suitable place near the mentioned mountain hut.

Path description:
On the south side of the mountain hut we notice signs for Klopni vrh and Pesek, which direct us to the path that ascends transversely through the forest. The cart track on which we walk brings us in a few minutes to a macadam road, along which we continue the ascent. From the road soon the first path to Klopni vrh branches off to the right, the branch-off is not marked, and a few minutes further also the second one, the latter branch-off is marked with directional signs.
We continue in the direction of Pesek and continue walking along the road, which gradually starts to descend; after a short descent we reach the swampy area named Skrbinsko borovje, where we go left from the road onto a marked path, which further on is quite damp due to the swamp. The path mostly continues along the cart track, and on less muddy sections also on the cart track. There follow some shorter ascents and descents, then we reach a marked junction, where a marked path from Osankarica joins us from the left; a little further we reach a macadam road, which we follow to the right, along it we walk to the left bend, where the markings for Rogla direct us straight onto a cart track that temporarily ascends more steeply. There follow some junctions where we follow the markings, and the path continues on and along the cart track, from which temporarily a nice view opens towards Rogla and the lookout tower on it. There follows a somewhat longer descent and at Zgornja brv we reach a road junction and marked junction.
We continue straight along the road leading towards Koča na Pesku and Rogla (right downhill along the marked path to Lovrenc na Pohorju); when the road turns somewhat to the left we leave it and at the poorly marked junction continue straight onto the cart track. Along the cart track we ascend more steeply, and at numerous junctions we carefully follow the markings. The path higher flattens out, at the section named Kocafurova koča it turns left, where it continues for a few minutes with some shorter ascents and descents. Later there follows some moderate descent and when we leave the forest we arrive at Koča na Pesku.
A few meters before the hut, at the tree with directional signs, we continue right in the direction of Pesek (inscription on the tree "P. vrh"). The less noticeable path after a few steps enters the forest and turns slightly to the left. The followable but poorly trodden path moderately ascends to the left, and after a few minutes the markings direct us right onto marked pathless terrain, where it is occasionally possible to follow a weaker trail. We follow this trail to the nearby summit, which we recognize by the tree with the inscription Pesek.
