Koča na Pesku - Jezerski vrh (via Lovrenška jezera)

Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Maribor, we take the exit Slovenske Konjice and continue driving towards the mentioned settlement. From Slovenske Konjice, we continue towards Zreče, while we follow the road in the direction of Rogla. When we arrive at Rogla, we continue on the main road, which for some time continues without major changes in altitude, then turns left and gradually starts to descend. We follow the mentioned road to Koča na Pesku, where we park on the parking lot near the hut.
B) First, we drive to Lovrenc na Pohorju (to here from the road Maribor - Dravograd), then we continue driving towards Rogla and Koča na Pesku. The subsequent macadam road then first brings us to Mašinžaga and then to Koča na Pesku. We park on the parking lot at Koča na Pesku.

Path description:
From Koča na Pesku we continue on the road in the direction of Mašin Žaga. The road first descends through the small valley between Rogla on the left and Pesek on the right, then brings us to Mašin Žaga, where there is a smaller reservoir lake.
We continue left in the direction of Lovrenška jezera and Ribniška koča, bypassing the mentioned lake on the left side. On the other side of the lake, signs for Lovrenška jezera and Šotna pot direct us right, where we go over a wooden footbridge. Some 10 steps further we continue parallel to the stream, then go left uphill, where the blazes direct us. The path ahead gradually starts to ascend somewhat more, after approximately 25 minutes of ascent we reach a marked junction, where we join the path from Rogla.
We continue right in the direction of Lovrenška jezera (left Rogla), where we continue the path with some traversing and shorter ascents and descents, then we start ascending on a partly paved path, where we ascend on wooden walkways. Higher up the path levels out and we arrive at a junction, where we go right towards Lovrenška jezera (left Ribniška koča and Rogla via the western path).
Just some 10 steps ahead we arrive at the viewpoint tower, from which a nice view opens towards the plateau where the small lakes are located, from the tower we continue on wooden walkways, which through the dwarf pines bring us to the lakes.
From the lakes we return to the last junction and continue in the direction of Ribniška koča and Rogla. There follows a few minutes of descent on wooden walkways, then from the marked junction we go right in the direction of Lovrenc na Pohorju and Ribniška koča (left Rogla via the western path). There follows traversing of the slopes below the Lovrenška jezera plateau, where the path crosses some streams, then the slope becomes scenic and we arrive at the junction at Planinka.
Here we continue straight ahead (right Lovrenc na Pohorju), the path leads us with nice views on Pohorje and Kamniško Savinjske Alpe and Karavanke in the distance, to the right we also get a nice view towards Golica / Koralpe. There follows still a few minutes of descent across the expansive meadow of Planinka, then the path enters the forest and descends somewhat more steeply. Lower down we go past an arranged spring, behind it we reach the pass Šiklarica, which is located at 1300 m above sea level.
From the pass we gradually start to ascend, at the junctions we follow the blazes. Somewhat higher a short path branches off to the right (2 minutes) to the memorial for the deceased pilots. Also further on we continue ascending through the forest, higher up the forest starts to thin out and we arrive at the next junction, which is located a few minutes below Jezerski vrh.
Here we go straight ahead (right Ribniško jezero 3 minutes) and ascend to the nearby Jezerski vrh, from which a nice view opens up.
