Koprivnik v Bohinju - Zgornji Goreljek (Pokljuka) (via model of windmill)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce, and then we continue driving towards Bled and forward towards Bohinj. After the settlement Bitnje, which main road bypasses on the left side, we continue sharply right in the direction of Jereka and Pokljuka. Further, the road at first steeply ascends, and after Korita gradually flattens and it brings us to a crossroad by bus stop, where we continue right in the direction of Pokljuka, Koprivnik and Jereka (straight Srednja vas). Immediately after the crossroad, we get to Jereka, and from the crossroad in front of the church we continue straight towards Pokljuka (left Podjelje). After Jereka the road again starts ascending steeper, and higher flattens and continues by stream Mrzli potok. At the bus stop signs for Koprivnik point us to the left, and from the mentioned crossroad we drive a little less than 200 meters and then we park on a parking lot near the parish church.
B) From Železniki or Podbrdo we drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, and then we continue driving in the direction of Bled. Soon after Petrol gas station, which is located only a little after Bohinjska Bistrica, we continue driving left in the direction of Pokljuka and Jereka. Further, the road at first steeply ascends, and after Korita gradually flattens and it brings us to a crossroad by bus stop, where we continue right in the direction of Pokljuka, Koprivnik and Jereka (straight Srednja vas). Immediately after the crossroad, we get to Jereka, and from the crossroad in front of the church we continue straight towards Pokljuka (left Podjelje). After Jereka the road again starts ascending steeper, and higher flattens and continues by stream Mrzli potok. At the bus stop signs for Koprivnik point us to the left, and from the mentioned crossroad we drive a little less than 200 meters and then we park on a parking lot near the parish church.

Path description:
From the parking lot at the church, we continue in the direction of model of windmill, and already after good 50 meters we get to a crossroad by inn Pr Senekar, where we continue straight (left driving road towards Zgornji Goreljek). A little further at the crossroad after the transformer we continue left and then after some time once again slightly left. The path ahead leads us over a bridge with a green fence, and at the first crossroad after the bridge we go right in the direction of model of windmill. Asphalt road leads us past few more houses and chapel, and then we already get to model of windmill, by which there is situated information board.
From model we continue on the road ahead, and after "last" permanently inhabited house it starts ascending steeply. After a short ascent, we get to the next house, behind which we continue on a cart track which leads us diagonally towards the left through a panoramic meadow. After few minutes, we get to the next hamlet, where the path at first leads through the yard of the nearby house, and behind the house we step on an asphalt road. In the first crossroad we go right, and then also past some inhabited houses straight on a cart track, on which we continue an ascent through meadow. Occasionally path leads past some cottage, and when we reach narrower asphalt road, we have two options to continue.
We can continue slightly left on an asphalt road, but it is better, if we continue sharply right, on the road which soon loses an asphalt covering. The path ahead leads us by the edge of the meadow, and the path after water supply structure passes into the forest, and we follow narrower cart track past individual cottages, further mostly hayloft. Further, the cart track changes into worse footpath, and when we can't follow it anymore, we continue left upwards and in a minute or two, we reach an asphalt road which leads towards Zgornji Goreljek (here we also join the path, if we would lower continue on the asphalt road).
Next follows a walk on an ascending asphalt road which higher flattens a little and it brings us to individual cottages on the periphery of Spodnji Goreljek, where there is also a turn-off towards the main part of the settlement.
We continue on the main road, from which soon the path or road branches off to the left towards the mountain pasture Zajamniki. A little further, we already get to Zgornji Goreljek, where wooden cottages and apartments are more frequent, at the crossroad, where in the winter time there is one way traffic we continue right in the direction of a chapel (to the chapel and hotel Jelka we can get to even if we continue on the left road). Next follows a walk on quite gentle road, on which we at first get to bog Goreljek, and a little further also to the chapel of St. Anthony the Hermit on Goreljek. From the chapel we continue for few minutes and we again join the before mentioned road. Here we go right, and at the next crossroad left to hotel Jelka.
From the hotel Jelka we can extend the trip also to Šport hotel.
