Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor, we go to the exit Trojane, and then we continue driving in the direction of Izlake and Zagorje. At the end of the settlement Izlake, we turn right towards Moravče, and we follow the road towards Moravče only a short time because we quickly turn left into the village Medija. In Medija we continue left towards Šemnik, and then right in the direction of Zasavska Sveta gora. The road then starts considerably ascending and it quickly brings us to a hamlet Krače, which is the starting point of our tour. At the starting point, there aren't any appropriate parking spots.
B) From Zasavje we at first drive to Zagorje, and then we continue driving towards Izlake. At the crossroad at the beginning of Izlake, we continue left in the direction of Moravče, and we follow the road towards Moravče only a short time because we quickly turn left into the village Medija. In Medija we continue left towards Šemnik, and then right in the direction of Zasavska Sveta gora. The road then starts considerably ascending and it quickly brings us to a hamlet Krače, which is the starting point of our tour. At the starting point, there aren't any appropriate parking spots.
Route description:
From hamlet Krače we go on a steep macadam road in the direction of Zasavska Sveta gora. The road quickly brings us to a panoramic grassy slope, where it first turns left and then right and then gradually changes into a wide cart track. We continue the ascent on a marked cart track which ascends diagonally through the forest. Higher, the cart track temporarily flattens, crosses a smaller stream which dries up in dry weather, and then starts to ascend somewhat more steeply towards the nearby asphalt road.
When we reach the mentioned road, we follow it to the left, but walk on it only some ten meters, then old mountain signposts direct us right onto a somewhat less trodden mountain path, on which we return to the asphalt road in a few minutes. This time we follow the road to the right, past the turn-off of the path to Roviškovec (Roviški vrh), until the nearby junction.
Here we continue right on the ascending road, on which in less than 5 minutes of further walking we arrive at the Planinski dom na Zasavski Sveti gori mountain hut.
From the hut we continue on the asphalt road, which soon splits into two parts. We can continue on the left or the right road. Both roads bring us to the summit after 2 minutes of further walking, with fine views.

Discussion about the trip Krače - Zasavska Sveta gora

This was one of my favorite hikes to date, path beautiful, marked, undemanding, then shock in the hut. In past years there were lots of people here, today I arrive almost empty, order lunch, soup ok, meat and potatoes cold as if waiting for me for ages. No wonder visits are gone, staff didn't care much serving cold lunch, Huts are plenty, we'll go elsewhere, pity only that at such nice spot no more old team and offer!

That's quite true Marijama, that in previous years there were many people in the hut here. At least it looked so from outside. Before accepting this new job on another continent, my girlfriend and I went up Zasavska gora from Vač last time before my move and got stale kremšnitte. When girlfriend refused such kremšnitte, lady brought fresh ones only after husband betrayed that she bakes fresh, as she said they have no other than stale (in talk she slipped again they are three days old, absolutely too much for kremšnitte as they contain eggs). This left bitter aftertaste for me. No apology. Otherwise I don't go to huts, if I did I had mostly good experiences. So such experiences prove how quickly you can "mess up" previously very successful hut business.
