Krka - Ciganov vrh (Korinjski hrib) (part of circular path Prijetno domače)

Access to starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Novo Mesto we take the exit Ivančna Gorica and continue driving in the direction of the village Krka. We continue driving through the village towards the church, where at the junction just by the church we stick to the main road in the direction of Laze nad Krko or Grosuplje (straight!). Approximately 80 meters after the junction we park on the right by the main road on a well-maintained asphalted parking lot.

Route description:
We follow the main road in the direction of "Laze nad Krko" for approximately 100 meters after which we notice the green-white blazes for the first time (they mark the circular path PRIJETNO DOMAČE of the municipality Ivančna Gorica and we follow them for most of the path to the top), which we follow through the village on paths between houses. Once we cross the main asphalted road and only when we reach it the second time we turn right and follow it for approx. 300 meters more, after which the blazes lead us left into the forest. The path leads us along a forest-macadam path, after approx. 10 minutes past a few houses, then alternately along a forest-macadam path. The path is all the time well-maintained and marked with green-white blazes and occasional wooden signs "Krka-Ambrus", which are part of the earlier mentioned circular path. Past a few warning signs "Dežela medveda" after approximately 40 minutes we reach houses again (settlement Laze nad Krko) and when we reach the asphalted road we follow it to the right approximately 350 meters, after which the blazes (this time for the first time for "Vrh Korinj") lead us right back into the forest. We follow the path past meadows and forests all the way to the ruins of the church right below the summit and to the summit itself. Right below the summit there is a logbook with a stamp, but the summit is barely noticeable (on the highest rock it says "Vrh"). Through bushes and trees a view opens up on the vast surrounding forests, on the neighbouring villages Mali and Veliki Korinj and towards Ivančna Gorica. We can return along the same path or along the main road from Laze nad Krko towards Krka.
