Lanišče - Viewpoint below Srnjak above Logatec

Access to starting point:
A) From Postojna, Logatec or Godovič we drive to Kalce pri Logatcu, and from there we continue driving in the direction of Podkraj. Few 100 meters further from the left hairpin turn, from the main road, a macadam road branches off to the left, by which there are signs for Roman fortress on Lanišče (Rimska trdnjava). We park on an appropriate place near the crossroad.
B) From Ajdovščina, Predmeja or Črni Vrh above Idrija we drive to Col, and from there we continue driving towards Podkraj and forward towards Logatec. When we already get to municipality Logatec, on the part where the road is descending and turns slightly to the left, we get to a smaller crossroad, where a macadam road branches off to the right, by which we notice signs for Roman fortress on Lanišče (Rimska trdnjava). We park near the crossroad.

Path description:
From the main road, we continue on the macadam road in the direction of Roman fortress (Rimska trdnjava), and already after few meters it splits into two parts. We continue on the right road, by which there are signposts for Grčarevec and the viewpoint. After the crossroad, the path leads us by the edge of a meadow, and then it passes into the forest and after few 10 strides of additional walking, we get to ancient Roman fortress on Lanišče.
We bypass the fortress on the right side, then the path leads us below the route of a power line, from where a view opens up slightly, and we follow the blazes. A little further, the path splits again, and we follow the Knafelc blazes (right to Stara pošta and Hrušica) and continue for a few minutes mostly through the forest. Higher up, we reach a forest road, which we follow to the left, and from there we quickly turn right onto a footpath toward the viewpoint. Only an ascent through the forest and a short descent follow, and we arrive at an arranged viewpoint, from which a beautiful view opens up.
