Laško - Dom na Kališču

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Kranj - east exit, then continue driving in the direction of Jezersko. When we arrive in Preddvor, leave the main road and continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement; from there, follow the signs for the Bašelj settlement. When we arrive in Bašelj, at the beginning of the left bend a narrower road continues straight ahead to the parking lot at the log cabin TD Bašelj (in descriptions starting point Bašelj), but we continue on the main road from the mentioned intersection for a good 100 m to the next intersection, where we continue right on the road towards Gamsov raj and the hamlet Laško. Only about 50 m ahead, continue on the left road, which gradually begins to ascend moderately. At the hamlet Laško continue left again, then the asphalt ends and continue driving on the steep macadam road, which leads us past the turn-off of the path (cart track) to the church of St. Lovrenc and the Dom na Lovrencu. From the mentioned turn-off drive a little further, to the end of the road or smaller parking lot a few 10 meters before.
B) From the Jesenice - Ljubljana highway, take the Kranj - west exit and at the first intersection continue left. Then drive through the underpass under the highway, after which we arrive at a roundabout, from which continue driving in the direction of Golnik. The route ahead leads through the settlement Mlaka pri Kranju, but at the end of the settlement continue right in the direction of the settlement Srakovlje. Follows driving through Srakovlje, Spodnja Bela, Srednja Bela, Zgornja Bela (in Zgornja Bela we join the road from Preddvor) to Bašelj, where the main road makes a long left bend, where a narrower road continues straight ahead to the parking lot at the log cabin TD Bašelj (in descriptions starting point Bašelj), but we continue on the main road from the mentioned intersection for a good 100 m to the next intersection, where we continue right on the road towards Gamsov raj and the hamlet Laško. Path description:
At the end of the road, we head onto the left cart track in the direction of Kališče and Storžič. The cart track ascends moderately and after ten minutes of walking brings us to a junction. We continue on the left cart track, which runs out after a few meters. The path here leaves the smaller valley along which it was ascending and steeply ascends to the left. After this shorter steep ascent the steepness eases and the path brings us to the partisan hospital Košuta. Behind the hospital the path crosses two successive torrents and then ascends steeply again. The path, which all the time runs through the forest, brings us to the side ridge of Kališče, where the unmarked path from Bašelj joins us. The forest then becomes sparser and occasionally a nice view opens towards Storžič. The path then turns slightly right back into the forest. Suddenly we see ahead a cottage which is located on the mountain pasture below Kališče. Only a few meters ahead the path from the village Mače joins us. Further the path ascends for approximately another 15 minutes through the forest. The path then makes a sharp left turn and ahead we see the Dom na Kališču, to which we have only a few steps left.
