Laufnitzdorf - Kreuzkogel (via Schiffall)

Access to starting point:
We leave highway Maribor-Graz-Salzburg (A9) after few shorter tunnels outside Graz and we continue right on the highway in the direction of Wien-Bruck/Muhr-Peggau.
We leave the highway at exit Laufnitzdorf and we turn right. On the road, we drive 1km. On the left side we notice a parking lot, where we leave the car.

Path description:
From the parking lot on the other side of the road, we see the first blaze and signpost for Schiffall. We cross the road and we follow the blazes through the settlement Laufnitzdorf. When the road ends, we continue on a forest path steeply upwards. We get to a larger meadow and by the edge of the forest we slowly gain at an altitude. We cross the fence and the road and we continue on the path through the forest. We again come on a meadow, where a steep path through a meadow brings us on a narrower asphalt road. We go right and after 150 meters before the farm we leave the road and we bypass the building on the left side. We continue on the forest road. We again come to a meadow (we admire nice view into a valley), on which we go to the crossing Schiffall/Kreuzkogel. At the crossing, we go left in direction of Schiffall. We follow the blazes to the top of Schiffall on a mostly wider and steep forest path.
From the top, we descend on a forest rocky path. Some parts on the descent are very steep and require caution. We reach a spot where another path from the valley joins from the left. We continue straight towards the summit of Kreuzkogel. When we bypass a larger rock, we notice a cross on the rocky summit.
After overcoming the final section with the help of steel cables, we reach the top. A bench awaits us for rest.
