Leše - Bivak Suška bajta (via Leše churches)

Access to starting point:
From Mežica, border crossing Holmec or Ravne na Koroškem, we drive to Prevalje, from where we continue driving towards the settlement Leše. When we get to Leše, we drive to ŠD Leše, where we park in an appropriate place.

Path description:
From the sports field we continue on the asphalt road which is ascending through the village. At the crossings, we follow the road on slightly left turn-offs, when the asphalt ends, we continue left on a cart track which is ascending on a panoramic grassy slope. The cart track then for some time continues below or by the route of a high voltage power line, higher it turns right and past a smaller hamlet brings us to the inscription box and a few steps ahead to both Leše churches.
In front of the churches we continue left on a footpath which higher passes into the forest, then after a shorter ascent joins a macadam road. On the road, we lightly ascend and already after a few 10 meters we arrive at a marked crossroad, where we continue on the slightly left road in the direction of Volinjak and the path to the mysterious world of Žal žen (right Prapar and Stovčnik). The path ahead first continues through the forest, then past a watering-place and along an ample pasture. Somewhat higher the road brings us to a smaller hamlet at the farm Hermanko, where on one of the buildings we notice the inscription Volinjak, and we continue further on the road, along which we arrive at a crossroad a few minutes away, next to which there is a larger masonry chapel.
From the crossroad we continue straight ahead on the road which continues on the left side of the chapel (slightly right road which leads towards Mežica, sharply right footpath to Volinjak). After a few 10 steps a marked path to Mežica branches off to the right downwards, and we continue on the macadam road towards the homestead Andrej. The path ahead leads us past the homestead Andrej, then continues first on the western, then also on the southern side of Andrejev vrh. Before the homestead Najevnik we reach a smaller saddle, by which there is a chapel (at the chapel, the path to Andrejev vrh branches off to the left), and we continue further on the macadam road.
Further the road leads us past homesteads Najevnik, Danev, Predovnik, to homestead Kajžar (at homestead Kajžar a path branches off to the nearby church of St. Lenart), which we bypass on the lower right side. The path ahead leads us on a forest road, which soon splits, and we choose the upper road (lower leads towards homestead Krajnc). A few minutes we still ascend diagonally on the slopes of peak Jankovec (1200 m), then we reach a small valley between the mentioned peak on the left and Kranjčev vrh (1227 m) on the right.
At the beginning of the mentioned valley a path to Šahmanova koča branches off to the right, and we continue on the left road, which brings us out of the forest onto a kind of pasture. When a little further ahead the path returns to the forest, on the saddle between the previously mentioned peaks we notice one of the rare mountain signposts (along the path there are mainly rare, old and partly already faded blazes).
We continue in the direction of Uršlja gora, on the road which starts to descend. After crossing a more pronounced torrent we arrive at the slopes of peak Stribovc (1151 m), where the road splits. We continue on the right road (left "homestead" Macigoj and Barbarski graben), which continues to descend, and we follow it to "gladovna voda". After a smaller permanent spring we leave the road and continue the ascent to the right on a cart track in the direction of homestead Obretan, Uršlja gora and Naravske ledine. The cart track quickly splits once again, and from the junction we continue on the slightly left path (slightly right Uršlja gora), next to which we notice the inscription "REST-PLAC". After a minute of further walking on the gentle cart track we arrive at bivouac Suška bajta.
