Ljubljana (Koseze) - Šišenski hrib (Rožnik) (by road)

Access to starting point:
A) From the western Ljubljana bypass, we head to the exit Ljubljana Brdo, then continue driving in the direction of the ZOO. Further on, we drive along the road Pot za Brdom, then at the traffic-light intersection continue left in the direction of the zoo. When, after approximately 1 km of additional driving, we arrive at the intersection with Večna pot, we continue left in the direction of Šiška and Center (right zoo). Further on, we drive along Večna pot, where opposite the football field a macadam road branches off to the right, leading to Mostec. Here we continue straight, then after a good 100 m to the right onto the other macadam road, along which we park.
B) From the intersection of Celovška cesta and Šišenska cesta, we continue along Šišenska cesta, then at the intersections continue straight or in the direction of the ZOO. When we arrive at Večna pot, after approximately 200 m we will come to the pedestrian crossing and a smaller intersection. Behind the crossing on the left side is our starting point, but since we are not allowed to turn left from the road here, we drive a little further to the spot where the access road to Mostec branches off to the left. Here we turn left, turn around, and return along Večna pot to the pedestrian crossing, where we now turn right onto the macadam road, along which we park.

Path description:
From the starting point, by which there is drinking water from a tap, we continue straight, where first we cross the asphalt path intended for pedestrians and cyclists and continue the path along the macadam road. Along the road there are also further on some parking options, but we soon continue right onto the wide sandy path, which first gently descends to a smaller stream. After the stream the path begins to ascend slightly and then quickly brings us to the recreational park Mostec, where there are a guesthouse, playgrounds, boules court...
From the guesthouse we continue along the road, along which we soon arrive at an intersection, from which we continue straight in the direction of Cankarjev vrh. After a short ascent we arrive at the ski jumps, which we bypass on the left side. There follows an ascent through the forest, the road brings us to the end of the ski jumps, from which there is also a nice view of all three ski jumps. Higher the road leads us past the brick tower, behind it we arrive at an intersection, from which we continue in the direction of Cankarjev vrh. A little further we join the road that leads from Tivoli towards Šišenski hrib and Cankarjev vrh, which we follow to the right. A little further the road descends to an intersection, by the monument of the war for Slovenia.
Here we continue sharply right along the ascending road, which after a good 5 minutes of further walking brings us to the summit of Šišenski hrib, which is the highest peak of Rožnik (ascent to the very summit is prevented by the fence).
