From the road Maribor - Ruše, in the settlement Bistrica ob Dravi we turn left (from the direction of Ruše right) towards Log. We continue driving through Log, and at the end of the settlement, at the intersection of several roads, we park at an appropriate place by the bus stop.
We park so that we do not hinder the traffic and the bus.
Path description:
From the starting point, we head onto the slightly right road, along which there are trail markers (left road towards Pečke, right part of the settlement Log). We ascend along the road for a short time, then before some houses we continue left into the forest, where we first ascend steeply. There follows a walk along a smaller ridge, then we step onto a road, along which we continue for some ten steps, then go left into the forest, where the path continues. A little further, we cross the road once again, then we begin to ascend ever more steeply along a gradually increasingly steep forested ridge. Higher up, the path becomes very steep and on a few minutes long section, especially when wet, also dangerous for slipping. Above the steepest part, the path gradually levels out and brings us a little further to a meadow, along the edge of which we continue. There follows a few minutes of moderate ascent and we arrive at Dom na Pečkah.
From Dom na Pečkah, over a shorter panoramic section, we ascend to the edge of the forest, where the path forks. We continue along the slightly left path in the direction of Mariborska koča and Razgledni stolp (slightly right path leads towards Ruška koča na Arehu), which enters the forest. Through the forest we ascend moderately to occasionally steeply, crossing some forest roads during the ascent. Higher up we also cross some connecting ski pistes, and at all junctions we follow the signs for Mariborska koča (in between, the path to the lookout tower branches off twice).
Higher, we reach the ridge and a macadam road and junction of several paths or roads.
We continue straight ahead along the road in the direction of Mariborska koča (sharply left: lookout tower and hotel Bellevue, left road leads towards the fenced area with radar tower, right leads a marked path towards Ruška koča na Arehu) and along the road we begin to descend transversely. Somewhat lower we join another path from Ruška koča, and we a little further ahead, when the road becomes asphalt, go right down from the road onto the marked path, along which we quickly descend to Mariborska koča.
