From the road Maribor - Ruše, in the settlement Bistrica ob Dravi we turn left (from the direction of Ruše right) towards Log. We then drive through Log, and at the end of the settlement, at the intersection of several roads, we park in an appropriate place by the bus stop.
We park so as not to hinder the traffic and the bus.
Path description:
From the starting point, we head onto the slightly right road, along which there are trail blazes (left road towards Pečke, right part of the settlement Log). We ascend along the road for a short time, then before some houses we continue left into the forest, where we first steeply ascend. There follows a walk along a smaller ridge, then we step onto the road, along which we continue for some 10 steps, then we go left into the forest, where the path continues. A little further, we cross the road once again, then we begin to ascend ever more steeply along a gradually increasingly steep forested ridge. Higher up, the path becomes very steep and on a few minutes long section, especially when wet, also dangerous for slipping. Above the steepest part, the path gradually flattens and a little further brings us to a meadow, along the edge of which we continue. There follow a few minutes of moderate ascent and we arrive at the Dom na Pečkah hut.
Behind the hut we step onto the road, but we head onto the path in the direction of Glažuta and Mariborska koča.
We continue along a cart track, across which there is a gate, then the blazes by the shooting range lead us into the forest, through which we then ascend. After a few minutes of ascent, we go slightly right from the cart track (straight Mariborska koča) and continue ascending through the forest, following the blazes. Somewhat higher we cross a macadam road, then at the next junction, by an older mountain direction sign, we go right towards Ruška koča. Further on we cross the road two more times, when we reach it again we continue right along it in the direction of Glažuta. There follows some descent and crossing of the ski slope, behind the ski slope after a few minutes we leave the road and head slightly right onto a cart track that runs parallel to the road, but somewhat lower. Along the cart track as well we cross the slopes for some time, when we leave the forest we moderately ascend and in a few minutes of ascent along a partly grassy slope we reach Glažuta.
From Dom na Glažuti we descend in some 10 steps to the nearby intersection, from where we head onto the road in the direction of Areh (left Mariborska koča, right Ruše). Along the road we ascend diagonally to the right, when we arrive below the drag lift we leave the road and continue along the marked trail alongside the drag lift. The path ahead leads us below the drag lift for quite some time, or rather along the drag lift we continue all the way to its top, where we go slightly left to the nearby asphalt road, which we reach near the hotel Areh.
Here we go left across the road onto a macadam road (ahead along the road Žigartov vrh and waterfall Šumik, right Ruše) and in two minutes of further walking we arrive at Ruška koča na Arehu.
