From the road Maribor - Ruše, in the settlement Bistrica ob Dravi we turn left (from the direction Ruše right) towards Log. Further, we drive through Log, and at the end of the settlement, at the crossroad of multiple roads, we park in an appropriate place by the bus stop.
We park so as not to hinder the traffic and the bus.
Path description:
From the starting point, we head onto a slightly right road, alongside which there are trail blazes (left road towards Pečke, right part of the settlement Log). We ascend the road for a short time, then before a few houses we continue left into the forest, where we initially ascend steeply. This is followed by walking along a smaller ridge, then we step onto a road, along which we continue for some 10 steps, then go left into the forest, where the path continues. A little further ahead we cross the road once again, then we begin to ascend ever more steeply along a gradually increasingly steep forested ridge. Higher up the path becomes very steep and on a few minutes long section, especially when wet, also dangerous for slipping. Above the steepest part the path gradually levels out and a little further brings us to a meadow, along the edge of which we continue. This is followed by a few minutes of moderate ascent and we arrive at Dom na Pečkah.
From Dom na Pečkah over a shorter panoramic section we ascend to the edge of the forest, where the path forks. We continue along the slightly left path in the direction of Mariborska koča and the lookout tower (slightly right path leads towards Ruška koča na Arehu), which enters the forest. Through the forest we ascend moderately to occasionally steeply, during the ascent crossing a few forest roads. Higher we reach a connecting ski slope, where we leave the marked path towards Mariborska koča and continue left along the ski slope in the direction of the lookout tower.
A little further we arrive at a fork of connecting ski slopes, and we continue slightly right, so that we continue ascending transversely. We also continue to follow the blazes and signs for the lookout tower, higher crossing an even wider ski slope, from which a beautiful view opens up reaching all the way to the Austrian peaks. The path ahead returns to the forest and a little further brings us to a marked junction, from which we continue straight in the direction of the upper station of the funicular (sharply right Mariborska koča and Ruška koča na Arehu). The path ahead brings us out of the forest and we arrive at the lookout tower on Mariborski razglednik.
From the lookout tower we continue towards the east and begin descending beside the ski slope. Lower, at the junction with another ski slope we reach a macadam road, along which we continue the descent, and when the road enters the forest, one of the paths from Mariborska koča joins us from the right.
We continue straight in the direction of the upper station of the funicular and Hotel Bellevue and continue descending easily. The path ahead also leads past a smaller statue of Mary, then we approach the asphalt road completely. We continue somewhat to the left of the road, and when we approach the parking lot at the upper station of the funicular, we go sharply left towards the nearby church of sv. Bolfenk, which we reach after one minute of further walking.
