Access to starting point:
From Ljubljana, we drive on the highway towards Koper and take the Unec exit. At the crossroad, we continue right in the direction of Planina, where at the crossroad we turn sharply left towards Postojna (up to here also possible on the old road). Further, we drive through Planina and at the spot where we notice signs for Strmca and Studeno, we turn right. The road soon brings us to the next crossroad, where it says left Postojna, straight Strmca and Studeno, and right nothing. Here we continue straight and we follow the road to the village Lohača, where we turn right in the direction of Planinska gora. We park immediately behind the village on a parking lot by the road.
From Postojna on the old road we drive towards Ljubljana. Soon after the village Mačkovec, in the sharp right turn, the road branches off to the left towards the village Strmca. This road then soon brings us to the next crossroad, where we continue left towards the village Strmca and Studeno. When the road brings us to the village Lohača we turn right towards Planinska gora. We park immediately behind the village on a parking lot by the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road by which we've parked further. Already after a few dozen meters the road goes into the forest through which it moderately ascends. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, we come out of the forest and immediately after that to a crossroad. Here we continue on the right road in the direction of the hunting cottage and Holy Mary. The road ahead for some time runs without large ascents by pastures of Planinska gora. A little further, the road goes again into the forest and here and there ascends a little. After a time the road starts slightly descending and soon brings us to the next crossroad, where we continue right towards the hunting cottage (straight church of the Holy Mary 15 min), which we reach after two minutes of additional walking. From the hunting cottage, we can continue on a footpath which in a moderate descent after a little less than 10 minutes brings us to the church or we return on the road to the crossroad and there we turn right (straight in the direction of arrival) and we follow the road which is slightly descending approximately 15 minutes to the church of Holy Mary.
