Majkovi - Neprobić

Access to starting point:
We drive across the Pelješki most and continue along the Jadranska magistrala towards Dubrovnik. When we arrive in the town of Slano, we pay attention to the left turnoff towards the places Ćepikuća, Mravinca and Trnova. We continue in this direction and after a few meters turn right towards the place Majkovi. Soon a road branches off to the left towards Bosnia, but we continue straight ahead. The road crosses the slope of Neprobić and when we arrive in Majkovi, we will soon spot the former school and nearby on the embankment the first marker. A few meters further is the church of St. Nicholas. We park somewhere along the road.

Path description:
From the church we return to the first marker and head right onto a newer cart track which soon turns into a narrower path. After 5 minutes of walking we arrive at a wide path leading from the center of Majkovi village. We turn left. The mule track gently ascends the western slope of Torac (774 m) all the way. In between it makes 2 short hairpins. The path is traceable but is already very overgrown in several places and must be followed carefully. After 1 hour of such path we reach a small plain called Gumance. Here we leave the wide path and turn left. The junction is marked only with markers. The path becomes hard to follow and leads us through the forested part of Gumance. After 15 minutes of walking the path leaves the forest and begins to ascend the southern slope of Ogradenice. The terrain is very rocky and grassy. We carefully follow the markers which are quite frequent. The path crosses some rocky jumps which are technically undemanding and turns left. Soon it crosses the ridge and passes to the western slopes of Ogradenice. Here a view of Neprobić opens up. The crossing takes half an hour and leads us mostly across grassy slopes with individual rocky sections. After the crossing a somewhat steeper ascent to the edge of a small valley follows. The path descends to the bottom of the mentioned valley called Barzin dolac. After about 10 minutes of mostly flat walking the path begins to steeply ascend to the ridge east of Neprobić. On the ridge the path turns left and crosses a belt of bushes. Across smooth slabs and a steep slope we reach the fore-summit. To the summit only a short descent and final ascent remain. At the top there is a geodetic pillar and a pole. From the top a panoramic view in all directions is offered.
