Marija Reka (Koritnikov most) - Homič (on logging trail)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Štajerska highway at the Šentrupert exit, then follow the signs for Prebold and later Trbovlje. Further on, we drive through the valley of the Reka stream, and when the forest on the left side ends, we notice red mountain signposts for Golava and Mrzlica by the road at Koritnikov most bridge. We park at a suitable place near the bridge.

Path description:
Right at the beginning, we cross the Koritnikov most bridge, then ascend diagonally across the pasture to the right, bypassing the nearby house quite a bit more to the left. On the upper part of the pasture, we reach a cart track, which we do not follow for long as we follow the blazes that lead us to the mountain path, taking care not to choose the path that leads to the nearby house. The path continues through the forest and ascends diagonally to the right, leading us through an area that is full of wild garlic in springtime. Higher up, we reach another cart track and continue ascending diagonally to the right. Higher, we reach a less steep area northwest of Golava, where the path flattens and turns left. Just a bit further, we leave the forest and arrive at a marked junction at the Huš farm.
Here, slightly to the left, the demanding Zvonetova pot to Golava continues, while we proceed right across the yard of the Huš farm towards Mrzlica.
On the other side of the farm, the path from the starting point at Strgarjev kamnolom quarry joins from the right, and we continue walking along the macadam road towards Mrzlica.
A little further, the road becomes asphalt and takes us past a cross to a junction, where we go slightly left from the road and ascend somewhat left of the Spodnji Dolinar farm; there is no particularly traceable trail here, and the blazes are already quite faded. From Spodnji Dolinar, we ascend along a somewhat clearer trail to the Kota homestead, where we go left behind the house onto a steep cart track, along which we ascend with the aid of old faded blazes to the upper part of the meadow, where the path turns right into the forest and flattens.
Next follows a short traverse, and from the left, the path from Prebold joins, which leads past the Lovski dom pod Golavo, or branches left to Andrejeva pot to Golava, while we continue straight towards Mrzlica and descend along the road to a marked junction at the Kočet homestead.
At the Kočet homestead, we reach the saddle between Golava and Homič, where we go right (straight the path to Mrzlica along and on the ridge of Homič) and walk along the road to the Zgornji Dolinar homestead, where the signs for Mrzlica direct us left onto a path that climbs above the road.
Here we ascend diagonally across a scenic meadow, from which a nice view of Golava opens up, then the path enters the forest and after a short traverse brings us to a forest road, which we follow uphill, past a spring continuing along it to its end, where there is a marked junction at the turning area.
From the junction, we continue left towards Mrzlica along the forest logging trail (straight to Mrzlica via Kriška planina) and begin to ascend the marked trail, which higher up has several junctions where we follow the blazes. Higher up the path becomes quite steep, and the steepness eases only when, at about 1000 meters elevation, we reach the macadam road, where we go left towards Mrzlica (right path via Kriška planina, Podmeja and Trbovlje).
We do not walk the road for long as the signs for the Prebold mountain path quickly direct us left onto a trail leading towards the summit of Homič (straight along the road to Mrzlica). The path ahead becomes quite steep and leads us along the forested ridge of Homič, whose summit we reach after approximately ten minutes of ascent from the place where we left the road.
