Matizovec - Tegoška planina (border guard path)

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway we take the Ljubelj exit and follow the road ahead towards the border crossing. We leave the main road at the spot where the signs for »camp and Podljubelj« point us to the right. When we leave the main road, we will already after a few meters arrive at a crossroads, where we continue left in the direction of »Kofce«. Further, we drive through the village on a slightly ascending road and then we turn right in the direction of »Matizovec and Kofce«. We follow this occasionally somewhat narrower road, which is asphalted in the lower part, to a larger marked parking lot, about 150 elevation meters below the farm Matizovec.

Path description:
From the large free parking lot we continue on a macadam road, along which in approximately 20 minutes we arrive at the farm Matizovec.
From Matizovec we continue on a rough road in the direction of Dom na Kofcah, and at several successive junctions we carefully follow the blazes. After a few minutes of walking on the rough road or cart track, the blazes direct us onto a steep footpath, which first ascends diagonally to the left, then transitions to a forested ridge, where it turns slightly to the right. Further, we ascend on a steep mountain path, which higher crosses a cart track and gradually flattens behind it. Just a little further, the forest thins out, the marked path turns right into the forest, and a little higher joins the cart track, which ascends diagonally to the right. The cart track higher turns to the left, and from the right also the marked path from Kal joins us.
From the junction onwards the forest ends, and the increasingly scenic path brings us to Dom na Kofcah in 5 minutes of further walking.
From Dom na Kofcah we continue right in the direction of the mountain pasture Šija. The path first crosses the slopes towards the east in a gentle descent, then joins a wide cart track, which takes us out of the forest onto the mountain pasture Ilovica. The path then begins to ascend gently and after a few more minutes of easy walking brings us to the shelter on the mountain pasture Šija.
From the shelter on the mountain pasture Šija we continue on the macadam road, which already after a few meters brings us to a marked junction, where slightly to the left branches off an unmarked path to Kladivo and the old border patrol path, which crosses the southern slopes of Košuta. We continue on the mentioned path, which first ascends diagonally, then takes us to a flat area, where to the left branches off the unmarked path to Veliko Kladivo (the junction is marked, and it is located in the middle of the plain). From the spot where the path to the ridge of Košuta branches off to the left, we continue straight on a trail which begins to disappear on grassy terrain. A little further we arrive at the edge of the forest, where we search for the continuation of the trail. The path quickly takes us out of the forest ahead and transitions to partly grassy, partly overgrown with dwarf pines, moderately steep slopes of Košuta. For some time, with nice views, we cross the slopes towards the east, then we arrive at the marked path Planina Pungrat - Škrbina. We merely cross the aforementioned marked path and continue walking in the same direction. Further on, the border patrol trail turns slightly to the right, then on the expansive pastures of the far eastern part of Pungratska planina it joins the marked path, but we continue straight to the nearby grazing fence.
We cross the aforementioned fence and step from the mountain pasture Pungrat onto the pastures of Tegoška planina. Here we continue on the marked path for a short time, then at the distinct gully we turn right and descend to the nearby forest road, along which we then walk downhill to the shepherd's hut on the mountain pasture Tegoška planina.
