Matke (Zahom) - Dragov dom na Homu

Access to starting point:
We leave the Štajerska motorway at the Šempeter exit and follow the signs for Šempeter. In Šempeter we turn right in the direction of the settlement Šešče pri Preboldu and then drive towards the settlement Matke. Soon after the sign which marks the end of the settlement Matke (the village continues with individual houses), we come to a junction, where we continue left in the direction of Hom, over the bridge upwards. After a short ascent the road brings us to the next junction on the saddle between Hom on the left and Kamnik on the right, where we continue left again in the direction of Hom and park on the parking lot by the road (the parking lot is immediately after the junction).

Route description:
From the parking lot we continue some 10 steps on the asphalt road in the direction of Hom, then we go slightly right on a forest footpath. Higher we cross the asphalt road to the right, above it we quickly arrive at the edge of the forest, from where a nice view opens up on the surrounding hills. The cart track brings us higher to a macadam road, which we follow left upwards; at the nearby well we go right on a steep footpath ascending through the forest. At the smaller junction we go straight towards Hom, and when we reach the asphalt road we continue the ascent along it. The road soon flattens, then crossing the eastern slopes of Hom past the house we arrive at a marked junction, where we join the other paths from Griže, Matke and Šešče pri Preboldu.
Here we go left, first past the house, then on a steep road in a few minutes we arrive at the church of St. Mary Magdalene and Dragov Dom on Hom.
