Molnarjev breg - Planjava pri Kamniškem vrhu (by road)

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana–Jesenice motorway, take the Vodice exit, then continue driving to the first signalized intersection in Vodice, where you turn left towards Cerklje na Gorenjskem and Brnik. When you reach the main roundabout in Spodnji Brnik, continue driving towards Cerklje and the Krvavec ski resort. At the end of the settlement Cerklje na Gorenjskem, leave the main road which continues towards Velesovo and Visoko and continue driving slightly right onto the road towards the Krvavec ski resort. Further on, you reach the village Grad, where signs for the settlement Ambrož pod Krvavcem direct you right onto a steep asphalt road (straight ahead: bottom station of the circular-cabin cable car to Krvavec and Štefanja Gora). When the steepness on the steep road eases a little, you will reach a junction, where you continue left towards the settlement Ambrož pod Krvavcem (straight ahead: settlements Ravne, Apno and Šenturška Gora). A little further, the road temporarily descends a little, then ascends through occasionally quite panoramic slopes. Higher up, you reach Ambrož pod Krvavcem, where you pass the church of St. Ambrož and tourist farm Pr Ambružarju on the left side. From the tourist farm onwards, the road enters the forest and relatively steeply ascends diagonally. When you reach the left hairpin bend, you are at the starting point, where you park in a suitable place near the smaller junction.
B) From the Jesenice–Ljubljana motorway, take the Kranj–east exit, then continue driving towards Brnik, Komenda and Mengeš. When you reach the main roundabout in Spodnji Brnik, continue driving towards Cerklje and the Krvavec ski resort. At the end of the settlement Cerklje na Gorenjskem, leave the main road which continues towards Velesovo and Visoko and continue driving slightly right onto the road towards the Krvavec ski resort. Route description:
From the starting point, we head onto the forest road that crosses the slopes of Molnarjev breg. We gently ascend along the road, then reach a smaller junction, where we continue slightly left along the upper road (the lower road or cart track soon ends), beside which we also notice the blazes. This is followed by a few minutes of traversing ascent along the road, from which we occasionally get some views. A little further, the road splits again, and we once more choose the left upper road, from which just a few dozen steps further to the left a steep cart track branches off. We continue along the road, from which in the right bend straight ahead a marked footpath branches off. The road, which then descends, soon turns back to the left and leads us past a gate. During the descent, we cross the marked path that recently branched off from the road, and we continue along the road in a traversing descent all the way to the upper part of the mountain pasture Osredki. From the upper part of the mountain pasture, we continue right and in a minute or two of further walking reach the huts on the mountain pasture Osredek.
From the huts on the mountain pasture, we continue eastwards, where we soon reach the eastern edge of the mountain pasture, where from the right a marked path from the village Slevo and an unmarked path leading past the Korošaški slapovi join us.
We continue into the forest and begin to ascend across initially quite a steep slope. Higher up, we reach the ridge, where from the left a path joins that bypasses the mountain pasture Osredek.
We continue right (left: our starting point and Kriška planina) along the path that runs along the northern side of the ridge. After a short traverse, the marked path approaches the ridge completely, and at this point we leave it and in a few steps ascend to the ridge (slightly left: marked path leading to Kamniški vrh).
This is followed by a few minutes of ascent along the path that continues along the increasingly panoramic ridge of Planjava, and we soon reach the partly grassy summit.
