Access to starting point:
From Kočevje we continue towards Croatia and border crossing Petrina. After approx. 15 km we reach the village Morava. At the end of the village, we turn right onto a macadam path. At the first turn-off we continue straight (right - farm), at the next we turn right and after approx. 2 km we reach the end of the road and turning area, where we leave the car. We can also leave the car in Morava and set off on foot along the forest road.
Path description:
From the turning point, we continue on a logging trail, which ascends slightly to the left up the slope. The logging trail is deeply indented into the surface. After approx. 500 m we turn left up the slope to the ridge, which appears on the left. The logging trail continues to the ridge and along it. Soon a logging trail branches off to the right towards the summit, which is quite steep. After approx. 50 m, a path branches off to the left from it along the ridge to the summit. The path is well-trodden and follows the ridge.
On the summit a view opens up on the entire former closed area, we see Preža, Sadni hrib, Morava, Nove Laze, Kočevska Reka and all the way to Stojna, Velike gore, Goteniški Snežnik and hills above Kolpa. On the other side the view reaches into the Kolpa valley, we see Kostel Castle, Banjo Loko,... below us lies Ajbelj, to which there is a 10-minute steep descent.
