Access to starting point:
A) From Gorenje vas, Ljubljana or Kranj we drive to Škofja Loka, then continue driving towards Železniki. At the end of Škofja Loka we notice signs for Križna Gora, which direct us right onto a somewhat narrower road, along which we quickly arrive at the village Moškrin. At the beginning of the village we continue slightly left (right center of the village Moškrin) on the road, along which only a little further we arrive in the forest. We park at an appropriate place beside the road.
B) We drive to Železniki, then continue driving towards Škofja Loka. At the beginning of Škofja Loka, a little further from the turn-off for the village Trnje, we turn left in the direction of Križna Gora and village Moškrin and then drive on a somewhat narrower asphalt road, along which we quickly arrive at the beginning of the village Moškrin. At the beginning of the village we continue slightly left (right center of the village Moškrin) on the road, along which only a little further we arrive in the forest. We park at an appropriate place beside the road.
Path description:
From the place where we parked we continue on the asphalt road, which moderately ascends through the forest. Higher, i.e. after approximately 15 minutes of walking, we arrive at a junction, where we continue right (left hamlet Cavrn). From the junction we ascend through the forest for a few more minutes, then the forest ends and with nice views we arrive at the village Križna Gora. At the beginning of the village at the smaller unmarked junction we continue left, then past the chapel and inn Gostilna pri Boštjanu we walk to the nearby marked junction, where we continue left in the direction of the church and hunting cottage (right Planica).
The path ahead leads us on a more gentle and subsequently macadam road. After a few minutes of additional walking on the road, from which beautiful views open up on Kamniško Savinjske Alps and Škofjeloško hribovje and Ratitovec, we arrive at the church of the Holy Cross and a little further also to the hunting cottage.
