Access to starting point:
We drive on the Adriatic main road between Novi Vinodolski and Senj. In the settlement Klenovica, which is situated just beyond Novi Vinodolski, signs direct us to the left (or right, if coming from the direction of Senj) toward Krmpota and Alan. The road ascends steeply and winds through a few hairpin turns. After approximately 10 kilometers, we reach a crossroad where a road branches off to the left toward Luka Krmpotska and Omar. We turn onto it and soon turn right onto a narrow asphalt road toward the Glass chapel, Nebeška vrata, and the Sviba viewpoint. We drive past the turn-off for Kolovratske stijene, but as there are no suitable parking spots here, we continue through the settlement Omar to the parking lot at the end of the village.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we return along the road approximately 300 meters. Then a signpost directs us left onto a narrower footpath, which gently ascends through small meadows and strips of forest. After approximately 10 minutes, we reach a newer cart track and continue along it around the nearby peak Mićena glavica (883 meters). When the cart track flattens, we turn right onto a path that briefly descends before ascending through a strip of low bushes. On the path, there are some thorns. The path keeps more to the right, and we reach the grassy slope of Kolevrat. We arrive at a barely noticeable cart track, which we follow to the left. We continue along the cart track to the forest, then turn right onto a path. The path steeply ascends and briefly returns to the cart track. In a few steps, we leave it and continue right onto a rough logging trail, arriving at the saddle between Kolevrat and Črni vrh. Here, a path to Kolevrat branches off to the right, while slightly to the right along the cart track leads to Kolovratske stijene. We continue straight along the road toward Črni vrh and Ričičko Bilo. The road briefly leaves the forest, and a beautiful view opens up. We soon return to the forest, where the road flattens, and after 10 minutes from the crossroad, a sign for Črni vrh directs us left onto a path. Straight along the road leads to Zapadak and Ričičko Bilo. The path is initially gentle and transitions into a small valley. In a few turns, we ascend over a steep section of the path to the lower edge of the scree. We walk flat alongside the scree, then turn steeply upward to a poorly noticeable junction, where a sign directs us right toward the top of the scree. The path is here very difficult to follow, so we carefully follow the blazes. The path makes a hairpin turn, and we pass onto a scenic meadow. The path turns left, and in a few steps, we reach the inscription box on Črni vrh, with the highest point located a little further in the forest.
