parking below Weinebene - Loskogel (Golica / Koralpe) (via Grünangerhütte)

Access to starting point:
A) Over one of the border crossings with Austria (Korensko sedlo, Karawanks Tunnel, mountain pass Ljubelj, mountain pass Jezerski vrh, mountain pass Pavličev vrh) we drive to Austria, and then we continue driving on the so-called southern motorway towards Graz. On the mentioned motorway we drive to the town of Volšperk / Wolfsberg, where we leave the motorway, and when we get to the old or regional road we continue driving in the direction of the town of St. Gertraud. In the town of St. Gertraud we notice signs for the alpine pass Weinebene, which point us to the right on an ascending asphalt road. On the mentioned road, we drive approximately 18 km, and then we get to the mentioned alpine pass, which is situated at an altitude of 1668 m. From the pass, we start descending towards the town of Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, and just a little after the left hairpin turn we park on a marked parking lot on the right side of the road.
B) Over the border crossing Holmec or Vič we drive to Austria, and then we continue driving towards the town of Volšperk / Wolfsberg. From Volšperk we continue on a regional road in the direction of the town of St. Gertraud. In the town of St. Gertraud we notice signs for the alpine pass Weinebene, which point us to the right on an ascending asphalt road. On the mentioned road, we drive approximately 18 km, and then we get to the mentioned alpine pass, which is situated at an altitude of 1668 m. From the pass, we start descending towards the town of Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, and just a little after the left hairpin turn we park on a marked parking lot on the right side of the road.
C) First, we drive to Maribor, and then we continue driving on the motorway towards the border crossing Šentilj and further on the Austrian motorway towards Graz. We leave the mentioned motorway at the exit for the town of Lipnica / Leibnitz. When we leave the motorway at the roundabout, we continue in the direction of the town of Lipnica / Leibnitz and further we drive south of the village Gralla, which is today already some kind of peripheral part of Lipnica. Further, the road leads us past the industrial or commercial zone, and at the roundabout by the Hofer store we continue "straight" on the second exit in the direction of the town of Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. Further, we drive for some time on the main road, and after the village Graschach we turn right in the direction of the town of Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. In the roundabout right next to the town of Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, we continue "straight" in the direction of the alpine pass Weinebene. From here on, the road starts ascending steeper, and we follow it approximately 17 km, and then just before the right hairpin turn on the left side we notice a parking lot, where we park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we head onto a side road in the direction of the mountain hut Grünangerhütte and mountain pasture Bärentalalm, which crosses slopes below the main road. The asphalt on the side road quickly ends and we arrive at a junction, where we continue on the upper right road (along the slightly left road one of the paths to the hut Grünangerhütte leads). Some ascent follows, and from the right the path from the parking lot Reihkehre - Glashütten also joins us, which is located above the hairpin turn mentioned in the access to the starting point. Some more traversing follows, mostly in a gentle ascent, and then the path splits again.
This time we continue slightly left in the direction of the mountain hut Grünangerhütte (straight Bärentalalm) and continue on the cart track, which crosses slopes to the left. Soon we cross a nearby stream over a bridge, then continue for a few minutes through the forest. Later we reach the turning point of the forest road, along which we continue the path, and on the road we descend for a few minutes. Lower down, the markers from the road direct us right onto a cart track, along which we ascend through the forest, which turns into a footpath, along which we quickly arrive at the mountain hut Grünangerhütte.
Behind the hut we continue right and continue the ascent on a marked footpath. After a few minutes of ascent through sparse forest we arrive at a small junction, where we continue straight in the direction of the path over Steinmandl. A little further we cross a grazing fence, and behind it we continue a few minutes of ascent through the forest. When we leave the forest we cross a forest road, and immediately above the road the path splits.
Before crossing the grazing fence a marked path continues right towards the summit Steinmandl, while we continue straight across the grazing fence and continue the ascent on an unmarked path, which continues on an increasingly panoramic grassy slope. When a few minutes higher we reach the saddle connecting Loskogel with Steinmandl we continue slightly left, then along a less distinct footpath we quickly ascend to Loskogel, where a metal cross stands.
