Access to starting point:
A) Via one of the border crossings with Austria (Korensko sedlo, Karawanks Tunnel, mountain pass Ljubelj, mountain pass Jezerski vrh, mountain pass Pavličev vrh) we drive to Austria, then we continue driving on the so-called southern motorway towards Graz. On the mentioned motorway we drive to the settlement Volšperk / Wolfsberg, where we leave the motorway, and when we get to the old or regional road we continue driving in the direction of the settlement St. Gertraud. In the settlement St. Gertraud we notice signs for the alpine pass Weinebene, which direct us to the right onto an ascending asphalt road. On the mentioned road we drive approximately 18 km, then we arrive at the mentioned alpine pass, which is situated at an altitude of 1668 m. From the pass we start descending towards the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, but just a little after the left hairpin turn we park on the marked parking lot on the right side of the road.
B) Via the border crossing Holmec or Vič we drive to Austria, then we continue driving towards the settlement Volšperk / Wolfsberg. From Volšperk we continue on the regional road in the direction of the settlement St. Gertraud. In the settlement St. Gertraud we notice signs for the alpine pass Weinebene, which direct us to the right onto an ascending asphalt road. On the mentioned road we drive approximately 18 km, then we arrive at the mentioned alpine pass, which is situated at an altitude of 1668 m. From the pass we start descending towards the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, but just a little after the left hairpin turn we park on the marked parking lot on the right side of the road.
C) First we drive to Maribor, then we continue on the motorway towards the border crossing Šentilj and further on the Austrian motorway towards Graz. We leave the mentioned motorway at the exit for the settlement Lipnica / Leibnitz. When we exit the motorway, at the roundabout we continue in the direction of the settlement Lipnica / Leibnitz, and further we drive south of the village Gralla, which is today already some peripheral part of Lipnica. Further the road leads us past the industrial or trading zone, and we at the roundabout by the Hofer store continue "straight" on the second exit in the direction of the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. Further we drive for some time on the main road, then after the village Graschach we turn right in the direction of the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. At the roundabout directly next to the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg we continue "straight" in the direction of the alpine pass Weinebene. From here the road starts to ascend more steeply, we follow it for approximately 17 km, then just before the right hairpin turn on the left side we notice the parking lot, where we park.

Path description:
From the parking lot we head onto the side road in the direction of the hut Grünangerhütte and mountain pasture Bärentalalm, which crosses the slopes below the main road. The asphalt on the side road quickly ends and we arrive at a junction, where we continue on the upper right road (a slightly left road leads one of the paths to the hut Grünangerhütte). There follows some ascent, and from the right there also joins the path from the parking lot Reihkehre - Glashütten, which is located above the hairpin turn mentioned in the access to the starting point. There follows some more crossing, mostly in a gentle ascent, then the path splits again. To the left branches off another path to the aforementioned hut, we go slightly right and continue on the macadam road, which ascends somewhat more steeply, and on it we arrive at the hut Bärentalhütte in a few minutes.
We bypass the hut on the right side, on the road we continue to the nearby junction at the grazing fence, where we go slightly right (straight Grünangerhütte and Steinmandl). A little further we go even more to the right, then across part of the mountain pasture Bärentalalm we ascend to the edge of the forest, where the path steeply ascends through a belt of forest. After a few minutes the steepness eases, the path turns slightly left and on the saddle between the peaks Hühnerstütze and Moschkogel it reaches the road leading from the pass Weinebene.
On the saddle, where there is a marked junction, we arrive from Austrian Styria / Steiermark to Austrian Carinthia / Kärnten, we continue slightly right onto the cart track, which crosses the slopes to the right (the cart track is unmarked for a short time, as the marked path leads right to the nearby hut Grillitschhütte and from there onto the cart track, the path straight along the fence continues towards the summit Großer Speikkogel - panoramic path).
For a few minutes we cross the slopes below the summit Hühnerstütze (1989 m), then we arrive at the cross Schäferkreuz, where the aforementioned path past the hut Grillitschhütte joins us. Here we continue straight and in a few minutes we arrive at the indistinct saddle between Hühnerstütze (1989 m) on the left and the summit Sprungkogel (1868 m) on the right.
On the saddle there is a marked junction, where we continue straight in the direction of the hut Großhöllerhütte (left Gr. Speikkogel), just a little further on a rock we notice signs that the path splits once again. The wide path on the cart track crosses the grazing fence and continues towards the hut Großhöllerhütte, to the left branches off a path that bypasses the hut.
We continue on the cart track and in a few minutes we arrive at the hut Großhöllerhütte.
Just a few dozen steps before the hut on the right we notice an unmarked path that starts to ascend the slopes of the summit Sprungkogel, which we follow uphill. Higher up the path starts to fade, but in a few minutes of ascent over easier pathless terrain we reach the panoramic summit, from which a beautiful view opens up all the way to Italy.
