Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana–Brežice highway, take the Ivančna Gorica exit, then continue driving towards Črnomelj. After Črmošnjice, the road ascends for a short time, then starts to descend more steeply. When we arrive in the settlement Vrčice, signs for Mirna gora direct us right onto an initially still asphalted road, along which we begin to ascend gradually. Soon after the asphalt ends, the road splits into two parts. We continue on the left road (the right one is intended for those intending to ascend Mirna gora on foot), along which we arrive after some time at the old Kočevje village Planina / Stockendorf (737 m). Here we continue right and then after a few tens of meters park on the parking lot by numerous directional and information boards.
B) From the Brežice–Ljubljana highway, take the Novo mesto exit, then continue driving towards Dolenjske Toplice and Podturn pri Dolenjskih Toplicah. In Podturn, join the main road Ivančna Gorica–Črnomelj, which we follow left towards Črnomelj. After Črmošnjice, the road ascends for a short time, then starts to descend more steeply. When we arrive in the settlement Vrčice, signs for Mirna gora direct us right onto an initially still asphalted road, along which we begin to ascend gradually. C) From Bela krajina, first drive to Semič, then continue towards Črmošnjice and Soteska. Still before the road starts descending, we arrive in Vrčice, where signs for Mirna gora direct us left onto an initially still asphalted road, along which we begin to ascend gradually. Path description:
From the starting point we continue towards Mirna gora and start the path along the forest educational trail, which leads us past a few houses. Above the houses the trail leads past an abandoned water trough, then gradually enters the forest through which it ascends moderately to occasionally steeply. The well-marked trail, along which there are numerous educational boards, turns slightly right higher up and brings us to the mountain hut Dom na Mirni gori.
