Planina Vetrh - Bela peč (via Koča pr. Zdravc)

Access to starting point:
a) First, drive to Tržič, then continue towards Dovžanova Gorge. Towards the end of Tržič, leave the road to Dovžanova Gorge and continue right towards Lom pod Storžičem. Above Lom pod Storžičem, at the right hairpin, leave the main road leading higher towards Grahovše and Dom pod Storžičem and continue left towards the settlement of Potarje. Drive along the asphalt road to the intersection below the tourist farm pr Tič, where continue left towards Planina Konjščica. This is followed by driving on a gravel road, from which a road soon branches off to the left to the Pinč farm. Here, go right along the upper road, which becomes noticeably worse; drive along it for quite some time to the next intersection. From the intersection, continue straight along the lower road (right uphill to Planina Konjščica), which shortly afterwards crosses the Vetrnik stream. At the next intersection, go left, then after 50 metres park at the marked parking area on the edge of Planina Vetrh. From the intersection at the Lepenka factory in Tržič to the starting point is approximately 11 km, of which 6 km is gravel.
b) First, drive to Tržič, then continue towards Dovžanova Gorge. Continue through Dovžanovo soteska, Dolina to Jelendol, where at the triangular intersection continue along the right road towards Medvodje. A few kilometres further on, a road branches left towards Planina Zali potok; we continue along Tržiška Bistrica for some time, specifically to the first access road to the right, which crosses Tržiška Bistrica via a bridge. After the bridge, begin the ascent along a poorer gravel road, which is often in quite poor condition in places. At intersections continue straight ahead, then, when the road levels out, quickly reach the marked parking area on the edge of Planina Vetrh, where you park. From the intersection at the Lepenka factory in Tržič to the starting point is approximately 12.5 km, of which 3.7 km is very poor gravel road, with even more gravel.

Route description:
On the eastern side of the parking lot, notice a cart track that ascends through the forest to a nearby forest road, which we follow to the left. Along the road we soon reach a right-hand hairpin, from which a nice view opens up towards Košuta, Plešivec and the surrounding mountains. Initially, there are still some views between the trees, then the path enters a fairly dense forest through which it ascends the western slopes of Pečica (1421 m) and later Maljevec (1502 m). We do not walk along the slopes of Maljevec for long, as the road brings us to the valley of the Vetrnik stream. Over a bridge the road quickly crosses to the left bank of the stream, then we ascend directly along the stream for a few minutes. Higher up, where the road crosses the stream again (this time without a bridge), we leave it and before crossing the stream continue right onto a wider cart track that begins to ascend through the forest. At the fork in the cart tracks continue slightly left, then a few minutes higher we return to the gravel road, which we now follow to the right.
While walking along the road we soon reach a marked junction, from which we continue slightly right towards Bela peč and Planina Konjščica (straight to Planina Javornik). From the junction we ascend easily along the road for a short time, then on the left we notice the Koča pr Zdravc, from which a nice view opens up towards Storžič and Tolsti vrh.
From the hut continue along the road for a short time, then at a small saddle continue right onto the marked footpath towards Bela peč. The path ahead begins to ascend moderately along the edge of steep slopes, then temporarily brings us to a cart track, which we follow to the left. The cart track soon ends and the path enters steeper slopes, which we cross to the right. This is followed by a short slightly exposed section, after which the slope levels out. Next comes crossing a pasture fence, then an easy path brings us to the next marked junction.
At the junction continue left (straight to Planina Zgornja and Spodnja Konjščica) towards the viewpoint Bela peč. Here continue through a narrow passage between two trees, then quickly ascend to the panoramic summit.

Planina Vetrh - Koča pr Zdravc 45 minutes, Koča pr Zdravc - Bela peč 30 minutes.
