We leave the A1 motorway at the exit for Šibenik and Drniš. We turn left towards Drniš through the Ploča tunnel. When we arrive in Drniš, we continue straight towards Oklaj. The road climbs somewhat steeply, but when we reach the plateau, we pay attention to the turn-off to the right towards Promina. We head onto this road. The initially asphalt road turns into a gravel road after the village of Lišnjak. We drive along the serpentine road. The gravel section is approximately 5 kilometres. We arrive at the intersection before the mountain hut, where we turn left and park in a suitable place in front of the hut.
Path description:
From the hut we return along the road to the last intersection, continuing left towards Čavnovka. After 5 minutes of walking we reach the branch to the right. We turn onto this path, which first gently ascends through the forest. Soon we approach the road somewhat, then the path begins to ascend transversely across the slope of Čavnovka, first somewhat steeper, then gently ascending all the way to an indistinct ridge, from where a view opens towards Svilaja and Dinara. The path turns left, crossing a small meadow and a strip of forest, then we already spot the antenna on the southern summit of Čavnovka. Just a few more minutes on a less visible path of stones and grass separate us from it. If we want to go to the northern summit as well, we continue past the antenna along the trail to the road and then along it to the northern summit. From the summit a view opens in all directions.
