Podkraj / Unterort - Ezzo's Hütte (on path P6)

Access to starting point:
a) Via the border crossing Jezerski Vrh we drive into Austria, then after approximately 6 km past Železno Kaplo / Bad Eisenkappel we turn right towards Velikovec / Völkermarkt (also possible via the border crossing Ljubelj). We follow the main road towards Velikovec for 2 km, then turn right again, this time in the direction of the place Pliberk / Bleiburg. Further, we drive through the Podjuna valley, then at the next larger intersection we turn right towards Pliberk. The road leads us further through some roundabouts, and we follow it in the direction of the ski area Peca / Petzen. Further, we drive through Bistrica pri Pliberku / Feistritz ob Bleiburg to the large parking lot at the bottom station of the cableway on Peca. From the border crossing Jezerski Vrh to the starting point is approximately 40 km.
b) From Slovenj Gradec we drive to Ravne na Koroškem, then continue driving towards the border crossing Holmec. When we drive into Austria we first drive towards Pliberk / Bleiburg, then follow the signs for the ski area Peca / Petzen. Further, we drive through a few villages, and we follow the road to the large parking lot at the bottom station of the cableway on Peca. From the border crossing Holmec to the starting point is approximately 8 km.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the lower cableway station on Peca, then turn left onto the path marked with P6 signs. The path leads us along a macadam road, which runs alongside and on the ski track. Higher up, several crossroads follow, where we follow the signs for path P6 and the mountain hut Moshtütte. Some ascent follows, where we carefully cross the route of the cycling "downhill" track; when the ski slope flattens, we notice the mountain hut Moshtütte on the left.
Further on, we ascend again along the ski track. A few minutes higher, the signs for path no. P6 direct us left, initially slightly downhill, where we reach a wider macadam road, which we follow briefly. From the road, we quickly turn right onto a cart track that ascends through the forest, where we follow the blazes and carefully cross the route of the cycling track. Higher up, we briefly step onto a macadam road, then continue ascending along the ski slope. A little further, the path turns right and continues through the forest. After the next road crossing, we move onto a steeper slope over which we ascend diagonally, and a beautiful view opens up. When we reach the ridge, the path turns left, and we ascend steeply all the way to the place where we reach a road, which we follow to the right. The road turns left a little further on, and we continue a bit further again along the ski track; when we return to the road, we follow it to the left, walking along it to the right bend, from which we go left onto a footpath that continues between steep slopes on the left and the cycling track on the right. When we leave the ridge, the path turns right and after a short crossing brings us to a macadam road, along which we quickly arrive at the mountain hut Alte Zollhütte.
We bypass the hut on the left side, then quickly ascend to the hut Berggasthaus Siebenhütten and a few steps further to the hut Ezzo's Hütte.
