Access to starting point:
We drive to the center of the Podsreda settlement, where we park at one of the parking lots in the town center. We can also park on the outskirts of the settlement near the cemetery, sports ground or fire station.
Route description:
From the center of Podsreda we follow the signs for Podsreda Castle, where after the NOB monument we carefully cross the main road, then continue along the side road which continues southwards. A gentle descent follows past a few houses, then the road forks and we choose the road slightly to the right along which there are signs for Podsreda Castle (left Levstik's mill).
A little further on, before the nearby house we leave the road slightly to the right onto a cart track which climbs parallel to the road and transversely above the aforementioned house. On this section a nice view towards Stara sveti gori opens from the path, and the path then enters the forest where we follow the well-maintained Castle Trail. In the lower part of the trail the path leads us over a few wooden bridges, then fairly frequent ascents on stairs follow. Higher up the path, along which there are numerous information boards, levels out transversely, then mostly continues along a cart track which climbs transversely through the forest to the left. When we are already quite close to the castle we reach a small valley where the castle pond is located, a little further the path forks.
We continue sharply right in the direction of St. Florian's chapel (straight the usual path to Podsreda Castle) and begin crossing somewhat steeper slopes to the right, the path leading us along a narrower trail. A little further a short ascent follows and we arrive at St. Florian's chapel, above which a nice view of Podsreda Castle opens up.
At the viewpoint we also reach the asphalt road which we follow to the left (right Shelter in Pečicah and Gorjane) and along it in a few minutes we arrive at Podsreda Castle.
