Access to starting point:
We drive to Mojstrana, and then we follow the signs for the Vrata valley. Further on, we drive through the Vrata valley, about 100 meters before the road sign 10 km, we will notice a cart track which branches off to the right perpendicularly to the main road. Here is the beginning of the described path. The marked parking lot on which parking is allowed is situated approximately 500 meters ahead on the main road.
Path description:
We go on the cart track which goes into the forest and after a short ascent it brings us to a smaller house. Behind the house where there is a crossing, we continue on the path which goes slightly left. Next follows an ascent through the forest and then through a clearing with fallen trees. The path further still runs slightly to the left towards the Rdeči potok stream, and by the path there is still quite a lot of fallen trees. For a short time we then still ascend through the forest, and then the path brings us to a somewhat poorly visible crossing. At the crossing on the right side on the tree some kind of face and the letter L are carved. On the left side of the path we can notice a carved arrow on the tree, which directs us to the right.
At the crossing we continue right and the path starts to ascend steeply through the forest and then turns a little more to the right and slowly brings us to steep slopes. In hairpin turns we then ascend for some time over steep slopes, and the forest becomes a little thinner so that wonderful views towards Triglav and other peaks above the Vrata valley also start to open up from the path. The slope along which the path runs is still quite steep and also dangerous for slipping, therefore some caution is needed. Higher up, when the path brings us to the northern side of Brinova glava, the trees are again somewhat denser. Here the path soon brings us to a crossing where we will notice a narrower footpath which branches off to the right towards the peak of Brinova glava.
We go on the mentioned path which runs along a narrower vegetated ridge towards the summit. First through sparse forest and then past some dwarf pines we quickly reach a very panoramic peak.
