Povden - Krekova koča na Ratitovcu

Access to starting point:
From Škofja Loka we drive towards Železniki and further to the village Zali log. When after the village Zali log a forest road branches off to the right (direction Ravne and Torka) we turn onto this road. When the road brings us to the sharp right turn in which there is a crossroad we turn right. The road then brings us to the hamlet Torka. Here we turn right (left Zabrdo) and we drive to the saddle Po(v)den near which we park on one of the parking lots by the road.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we first walk to the saddle Povden (Poden), where there is a junction. We continue left in the direction of Ratitovec on the path which in a moderate ascent crosses a belt of forest, then transitions to steep grassy slopes. The path ahead climbs steeply up the steep grassy slope, which in wet and snow is dangerous for slipping (in winter danger of snow avalanches). This increasingly panoramic path, on which the steepness suddenly eases higher up, brings us to the vast pastures of Ratitovec. Here the path turns a little to the left and then in a gentle ascent in a few additional minutes of walking brings us to the mountain hut on Ratitovec.
