Pregrada - Bukovski vrh (Kuna gora)

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Croatia over the border crossing Rogatec/Hum na Sutli. From the border we go right and after fifteen minutes of driving we are in the settlement Pregrada. Here we will turn into the first street on the right (Prilaz Matice Hrvatske street), then once again right and we will park on a large parking lot by the church.
B) If we come to Croatia through the border crossing Gruškovje/Macelj we go on the highway Macelj-Zagreb to the exit Đurmanec, and from there in the direction of Hum na Sutli and then as per the above description.

Path description:
From the parking lot at the church, we go slightly upwards to the north. We get help from hiking signposts. After a minute, we leave the asphalt and go on a narrower path between the fences, which quickly brings us into the forest.
In the forest, we will start relatively steeply ascending. The surface will be occasionally rocky. The path brings us to a junction, where we go right. On this part, there is a somewhat more demanding ascent over rocks, which brings us to an exposed section. After the exposed section, there is the next junction, where straight ahead goes a very steep unofficial shortcut, and we go right and after a few minutes of ascent we get to a turn, where the path will turn sharply to the left to the west. The steepness will gradually decrease, and at the next turn we join the steep shortcut and after a minute we come out of the forest in front of the mountain hut. Characteristic of this part of the path are crosses by the path.
The mountain hut is open on weekends, but it is not supplied. From the hut there is an exceptional view of the settlement Pregrada and further towards the south.
From the hut, we go further to the north on a gently sloping asphalt road, which after some time starts descending. When it descends to the saddle, we will leave it and go right onto a forest cart track (ahead on the asphalt to Vina gora and Veliki Tabor).
The cart track starts quickly ascending and at the turn turns to the north. The ascent is steep, in the last part we will also have problems with the demanding rocky and muddy surface dangerous for slipping. The cart track flattens, but it is usually quite muddy. After a short time, the cart track brings us to the hunting observation post, where we leave it and go left to the west.
The path through the forest brings us to the next junction, where to the right goes the path to the ruins of the castle Kostel, and we will go straight ahead. We get to a belt of pine forest, and behind it also to a smaller hut of the mushroom pickers' society. Here we can rest and shelter in the rain. By the hut there is another junction, where straight ahead the path continues to Vina gora and Veliki Tabor, and we go right and after a minute we are on Bukovski vrh, the highest peak of Kuna gora. The peak is in the forest and has no view, only a stamp and logbook.
