Prelesje - Sivka

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Gorenja vas in the Poljanska valley, from where, at the roundabout by the Petrol gas station, we take the exit in the direction of Vrhnika and Horjul. Further on, we drive through Dolenja and Gorenja Dobrava and Todraž, after which the road starts to ascend more steeply. When, higher up, the road flattens a bit, we arrive at the intersection at the Prelesje bus stop, where we continue left towards Prelesje (straight ahead to Lučine and Polhov Gradec). After the intersection, the road ascends slightly and quickly brings us to the settlement Prelesje, where the described path starts. We park in a suitable place by the road before or behind the settlement.
B) We drive to Polhov Gradec, then follow the signs for Gorenja vas. Higher up, we arrive at the settlement Suhi Dol, where the road starts descending towards the Poljanska valley, but we drive along it to Lučine, or to the end of the mentioned settlement, from where we continue right towards Prelesje. After the intersection, the road ascends slightly and quickly brings us to the settlement Prelesje, where the described path starts. We park in a suitable place by the road before or behind the settlement.
C) We drive to Horjul, then follow the signs for Šentjošt nad Horjulom. After Vrzdenec, the road starts to ascend more noticeably and soon brings us to an intersection, where we continue right on the priority road towards Suhi Dol, Butajnova and Gorenja vas (straight ahead to Šentjošt and Žiri). A short descent follows, then we join the road from Polhov Gradec, and we continue towards Gorenja vas. Higher up, we arrive at the settlement Suhi Dol, where the road starts descending towards the Poljanska valley, but we drive along it to Lučine, or to the end of the mentioned settlement, from where we continue right towards Prelesje. After the intersection, the road ascends slightly and quickly brings us to the settlement Prelesje, where the described path starts. We park in a suitable place by the road before or behind the settlement.

Path description:
Through Prelesje we walk with nice views; after the settlement the road turns into forest and, after a short crossing, brings us to a small valley where the road turns left. At the point where the road turns left, we leave it and continue right onto an unmarked cart track that ascends along Preleški graben stream. For a few minutes we ascend along the stream, which dries up on dry days, then at the fork we choose the left cart track and cross Preleški graben. On the other side we ascend diagonally; at a few forks we choose the path that ascends more noticeably (at the first fork right, at the second left, at the third again right). After a few minutes of ascent we reach an asphalt road, which we follow left downhill (right homestead); we descend along the road only a few dozen steps, then go right onto a cart track that climbs above the aforementioned homestead. Above the homestead we return to the forest, where we first ascend steeply, then the path levels out and brings us to the summit grassy slope of Sivka, along which we quickly ascend to the logbook box of Prijateljev Sivka; from it, with nice views, also to the nearby summit.
