A) First, we drive to Ljubljana, then we continue driving along Celovška cesta towards Medvode. When we arrive in Medvode, at the first traffic light we turn left across the railway track in the direction of Golo Brdo, Žleb and Preska. After the railway track we continue right on the main road towards Preska; we drive along the main road to the first road junction on the left. Further, we drive through the settlement, then, when on the right side we notice the sports field of the nearby primary school, we turn left onto Cesta v Žlebeh. When the residential houses on the right side of the road end, we arrive at the arranged parking lot, where we park.
B) From Škofja Loka, Kranj or Vodice we drive to Medvode, from there we continue driving towards Ljubljana. At the last traffic light in Medvode, which is located about 100 m ahead of the Hofer store, we turn right across the railway track in the direction of Golo Brdo, Žleb and Preska.
Path description:
At the end of the parking lot is a marked junction, where we continue right in the direction of Jeterbenka and Katarina (left Slavkov dom na Golem Brdu). The path first leads on a macadam road which after a smaller house changes into a cart track, from which we continue left into the forest, where first we cross a stream. Further, we ascend gently on an occasionally overgrown path which leads us past several smaller junctions, where we follow the blazes. After a few minutes of gentle ascent, the path turns slightly to the left and gradually descends to the forest road which we only cross. A little more descent follows, then we reach an asphalt road and follow it to the right, but we walk on it only a short time, as the red mountain signposts direct us left to the nearby fruit press.
We bypass the fruit press pr Andrej on the left side, then behind it we continue over a small bridge into the forest. In the forest first we continue right and in a few minutes ascend to a cart track, on which we step out of the forest. The path ahead leads on the mentioned cart track, first past a house, then with nice views on Polhograjsko hribovje. After a short descent we reach an asphalt road which we only cross, as the path continues on a macadam road. The road soon splits into two parts, we continue on the left lower one (also possible right, as both paths lead to the church of sv. Marjete), along which we quickly arrive at the left bend, at which there is a marked parking lot Žlebe.
From the parking lot we continue on a cart track in the direction of Katarina, Jeterbenka and sv. Marjete (left Petelinc), which continues on the left side of the stream. After some 10 steps we leave the mentioned cart track and continue right into the forest, where first we descend to the stream and cross it. On the other side we gently ascend for a short time, then the path turns right and ascends more steeply. Somewhat higher we arrive at a marked junction, where we have two options for continuing.
We can continue left in the direction of Jeterbenka or right on a path about a minute longer past the church of sv. Marjete.
If we continue on the left path we will soon reach the next junction, where to the right branches another path to the mentioned church. Also here we continue left, then somewhat further at an unmarked junction slightly right upward (left lower path leads to Jeterbenka "on the ridge" (of course the path reaches the ridge only somewhat higher)), where after a short ascent we join the cart track that leads from the church of sv. Marjete.
Further we ascend on a relatively wide cart track which leads us past the information board of the archaeological site on Gradišče. A few minutes further the path of Roparskih vitezov branches to the right, we continue straight on the somewhat steeper cart track. Just before the steepness eases the path of Roparskih vitezov rejoins us, the marked path turns somewhat more to the left and brings us over the ridge of Turnice to the western slopes of Jeterbenka. The path ahead leads through a meadow, from which some views open temporarily, then returns to the forest and brings us to the junction at the chapel.
From the mentioned junction, which is located at the edge of the forest, we continue straight (sharply left Jeterbenka, left Slavkov dom na Golem Brdu) on a scenic road, on which we quickly reach the next junction, from which we continue straight on a footpath that continues between two roads (left road leads towards Katarina, right towards the farm Kozomer). The path ahead quickly ascends to a bench and table, then continues briefly along the edge of the forest, where a nice view opens. Higher the path goes into the forest and brings us to the subpeak, from which past the hut it descends to the cart track. On the cart track we ascend only briefly, then at the place where the cart track turns slightly right, we continue straight upward on a well-trodden trail that begins to ascend steeply through the hayfield. Higher the path goes into the forest, where it ascends even more steeply. When somewhat higher we step out of the forest we are already on the top of Rog beside a large wooden cross.
From the top we continue on a pleasant ridge path that leads along the scenic ridge, then the path crosses a strip of forest, after which we arrive at a junction. At the junction the path to the church of sv. Katarina branches left, we continue slightly right on a somewhat less pronounced but still well-followable trail, which continues for some time over the hayfield, then passes into the forest and descends to a narrower macadam road that leads from Topola towards the hamlet Brezovica. We walk briefly on the road, following it right, then arrive at a well-marked junction located at the edge of a smaller hamlet.
The marked path bypasses the hamlet on the right side, then continues on a wide cart track, from which a nice view opens on our goal and in fine weather also on Kamniške and Savinjske Alpe and Posavsko hribovje. On the other side of the scenic meadow the path approaches the forest, where the path from Sora and Preska also joins. Here too we continue left, we walk on the cart track only another 10 or so steps, as then the markers lead us right on a relatively steep path that continues along the edge of the forest (even if we continue on the cart track we will reach the top). During the ascent a nice view opens towards Polhograjska Grmada, from the top, which we reach after a few minutes, also towards the other peaks of Polhograjsko hribovje.
