Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana ring road we go to the exit Ljubljana - Podutik, and then we continue driving in the direction of Podutik. At the traffic light near the parish church in Podutik we continue straight, and then we gradually start ascending towards the Preval saddle, where at the crossroad we continue right in the direction of Toško čelo (straight Dobrova). From the crossroad we drive a few hundred meters, and then on the right side we notice a suitable parking area, where there is space for around 10 cars.
B) From the Ljubljana - Koper highway we go to the exit Brezovica, and then we continue driving in the direction of Dobrova and Polhov Gradec. At the end of Dobrova signs for Šentvid point us to the right onto a narrower road, on which we continue driving. Further, the road leads through Stranska vas, behind which it starts ascending towards Preval. On the Preval saddle we go left (straight Šentvid and Podutik) and we drive a few hundred meters, and then on the right side we notice a suitable parking area, where there is space for around 10 cars.
Path description:
By the parking lot we notice the beginning of the marked path, which at first continues parallel with the asphalt road, and then turns somewhat more to the right and ascends somewhat more steeply. Higher up, we cross the road, and then only a little further we join it. We follow the road to the left, and we walk on it to the left bend, from there straight onto a fairly steeper path, which soon approaches the road completely. We continue right, at first along an indistinct ridge, on a path which continues through the forest. The path ahead crosses the edge of a meadow, after which we arrive at the hunting cottage on Toško čelo.
Just before the cottage we step onto a narrower asphalt road, which first moderately ascends, then starts descending towards the houses on Toško čelo. When we descend to the main road we continue sharply right in the direction of Katarina (left we return to the starting point). We continue on a macadam road which quickly enters the forest, then continues with some shorter ascents and descents. In a few smaller crossroads we continue on the "main" road, which after some time brings us to the quarry, after which the forest starts to thin. After a somewhat longer descent a marked path from Gabrje joins from the left, and we walk on the road to the nearby crossroad, by which stands a sign (cross).
Here the road towards Slavkov dom on Golem Brdo branches off to the right, straight ahead continues an unmarked footpath which leads directly to the church of sv. Katarine, to the left branches off a marked path which continues along the asphalt road.
Here we continue left and on a gentle partly asphalt road we ascend to Vaška krčma, by which we notice the next hiking signposts. Here we continue right in the direction of Sveti Jakob and we continue on a relatively steep road, on which in a few minutes we arrive at a larger chapel.
